Ok thanks, I'm not too familiar with the xl ratings of motors. So that means I should be able to hit 50 with a 2150kv 4074 motor and correct prop. Sound good!

increasing the KV, cell count, and overall the RPM isnt the only way to gain speed.
Try to get the best prop and change the setup (strut depth, angle etc.), people gain up to 5 mph that way, with no extra cost.

Thanks, great tip. I will experiment will all that good stuff, and i will see what is the most I can get out of this boat with the stock motor on 4s.

As with all my rc's eventually I will want more! I have seen a few vids on youtube of the apparition stock on 4s, looks good but I will eventually have to take it to the next level.

Yeah, take it up a notch if you want to, but most components will have to be changed out

I'm all ears. What would you reccomend? I am putting in a 125 amp esc, and I have good c rated batts. I know ill change out the motor and prop. Not sure about the 4mm drive system, I think its pretty good.

Good prop, and motor on 6S! Do it! I have seen a few Apps run the stock motor on 6S but I am not sure how long that would last... I am running a Fighter Cat outrunner and 40mm brass prop on my App.

I am going to stick with 4s, that's why the 2150kv 4074 motor is looking like the best option for me.

Yeah I have seen some youtube videos of the app on 6s with the stock setup, it does about 50.

My goal is to get near 50 mph on 4s. Basically I'm gonna throw a 1/8 scale moter in it 2150kv 4074 and just play around with props untill I get the speed I want with the electronics within opp temps...

the fightercat 540 1970kv outrunner would be a good 4S motor, it's pretty big too.

Yeah when you get in the 2000kv range thats good to run on 4s. I think im going to upgrade to an 1/8 scale motor, a 4074 size motor is going to work a lot less than a 540 size motor, probably run cooler too.

How would you keep an outrunner cool?

                          air flow and watercooled mounts
check out simon o's rigger build, he has a wet chamber where air can flow, but if water gets in, it doesn't fill the whole boat
I'm doing the same on my rigger using the fightercat motor, that's why i reccomended it.
