If your CG isnt set up far enough forward for race water and wind conditions it will blow off pretty easily.

You just have to get the setup nailed down.

Hey guys, first post. First, I know many of you have spent allot of money and time beating your head against the wall learning what works and what doesnt. I appreciate the knowledge you all share with us noobies.

I'm getting a shopping list together for my first build. Planning on the Titan 33 (40). I wanted some input on different drive hardware set ups. Pros and cons on using a all-in-one strut/rudder set up such as Fine Design's 21EGSRA verses Speedmasters Stinger. Does one have an edge over the other in durability and/or performance? If I do go with Speedmaster set up, do should I go with the mini rudder or is the larger size rudder more appropriate for the Titan33?

        Thanks again!

I prefer the speed master hardware because it is easier to make micro adjustments...

I'm in the ATL all the time for work. Do you use the pond over by the airport?

Yup. The naturally fresh pond. We stumbled across the Atlanta model Boaters, a mostly gas club, we joined and now We participate in club races, grand prixs and everything with them. Its also a great place to test SAWs boats......

We are out running almost every weekend.....Race or no Race

Nautiboyz, I went with the fd all-in-one really because it was just one less thing for me to mess up. It has performed well so far. The biggest drawback I've found with it is adjustment. The screws that hold the strut in place are the same ones attach the rudder to the assembly. If you want to adjust the strut angle you'd better be prepared to reset the rudder angle. Sometimes I don't mind it and sometimes it's just a pain.

C.Smock I have been to that pond. When ATL is taking off to the west I get a glimpse of it. I had some extra time one day and decided to Google Map it. They have a nice stand and looks like a great place to race. The gate was locked so I checked it out from the road. I'll pm you if I come down on a weekend for sure. Thanks for the invite.
