    Brian.

I went with a aquacraft 60 amp esc and the gold 1800kv motor and 2 (2s) lipos, I may want more in the future but this is fine for now. I think the 240 is overkill but if its what you have use it(these are hard times brother, money is tight).

I am going to run 4s2s with a leopard 4082 and need a HV esc and with these hard times I was going to use what I have with the Hydra Ice 200. Its just that its so long and will take up alot of room. I can shove it all the way into the nose and be ok I think. May try looking for a used HV esc.

The Delta Force seems to like the the weight forward, I'd try it.

I use a Swordfish 120, it fits in the nose just right. I couldn't imagine anything bigger. Things start getting tight once you add your motor, esc and batteries. I run a 3s 2200 (ran in parallel) in each sponson, but a 2s 5000 will fit.

I am in need of a HV ESC, something that will support 4s2s or up to 8 cells. Used would work if I could find one.
I am still waiting for my waterjacket, its taking forever.........

You talk about hard times, but you have a $330 Hydra Ice? OSE sells a Swordfish 120 that's in the seventy something dollar range.

I got the Hydra ice for $240 about 2 months ago for my 1/8 scale and have run low on hobby money. I am trying to spend it wisely because I still need batts. The Swordfish will only support 6s I am wanting to run 4s.

It's 2-6s. It will work more than well enough for your application.

Just ready to try out my Delta Force Vortex 24"
I thing I may need to change the motor from the one pictured its a 3656 2600kv I was going to run on a single 3s 4500Mah but not sure if this will be any good,
                    I think I would be better running on a 3665 2300kv on 4s
looking to break in the 50 mph club
                    any recommendations!
the esc is an eti 150A looking for a motor to max the esc out without blowing it
and hopefully get in to the 50mph club

Do you think that a single 3s lipo and 3s motor could get me 50 mph+ or would this be only possible on a 4s setup?
it just looks like a 2s or 3s boat to me and seems to get to way to heavy adding 4s setups
                    but what do I know!

4S is probably the limit for a 24" hydro, but you would have more power to push a bigger boat with a 4S setup.
do you not have the stuff that's in there? or are these older pics?

I would be up for buying a new motor if needed

I dont think you can get 50 mph with a 3s setup. Have you tried the speed calc on this site?? It will get you a speed for your setup and you can play with the #s , props, and batts. I have a 22" DF Vortex with a Feigao 6XL, 3s2p, 640 prop and got 49.87 mph in not so favorable conditions. I then found and used the calc. input my setup and it came up with 50mph. My 24 DF Vortex will be running a Leopard 4082 1000kv, 4s2s the calc. came up with 65mph with a 645 prop and 78mph with a 670 prop. Now I dont know if I can pull the load, I will be working up to those speeds with the help of my Eagle Tree logger to see what the system is pulling. The 24 build is in progress awaiting a waterjacket and batts.

Haven't posted for awhile but will post some pictures soon. Having alot of fun with the hydro, it really likes to run (2) 2s 5300 gen ace lipos. Maybe I'll post another video from this comming weekend and gps it for speed.
