Thank you, yes I am still running the lipo's up front. I think that'd be an awsome idea, I don't think it'd take too much work either, how much area do you think I'd need to use in order for it to get enough water in so it'll roll over, I'd like to investigate this idea more, can anyone offer some advice?Comment

Get the boat ready to run and remove the flotation on the left side. Then start to stick weight inside the hull and let it capsized in the water, start with an half Kg and see if it roll over, if don't add some weight and try again until it roll over. This way I think you'll find out the weight needed to roll over the boat. For each Kg of weight you will need one liter of water.Comment

I took the titan out yesterday and found it to run the best it's ever ran, I was using a dasboata M445 and it never looked like coming unstuck. The Gps read around 50mph each run and 10000mAh last me just over 5 minutes before the lvc kicked in. Temps were all good considering it was about 30c outside and the waters now pretty warm. I tried a X440/3 out for a 3minute run, it struggled a bit from a standing start but had plenty of boogie out of the turns and down the streights, this prop was getting around 45mph on the gps. I had a little hicup loosing a M445 due to a loose dog drive sliding up and allowing the nut to come loose, lucky though I had another, not wanting to run back over to the shed and fix it properly cost me a big forhead slap and another M445. I packed everthing up in the shed and fixed the drive dog, after tea the water was glass and I had a couple of packs left so I through them in with a x445 and headed for the water, I was that confident with the boats performance that i didn't worry about getting the kayak out and for the first time drove without a rescue craft handy. It was awsome, the hull ran on only the last 1-2" of the V, almost completely out of the water and running on the stinger yet as stable as I've ever seen it, it carved the full speed turns with ease and was a rocket out of hair pin turns. I flogged the guts out of it for a full 5 minutes and as the timer went off the lvc kicked in allowing me to limp it back to shore. Temps where a little higher with the X445 but still not too bad, I love this boat, no tape needed, plug in and pin the triggerComment

sorry to dig up an old thread, I figured it'd save starting a new one.
I did a little work on my titan last night and and managed to get some driving time in this afternoon so I have a few results to share. I had to change my trim tabs due to a crash that bent one back the wrong way last time I drove it, so I took the opportunity to reposition them better allowing more clearance for the prop and thought I'd fiddle with the stinger adjustment to see how a 1/2 turn up would ride. This afternoon was choppy and very windy and the only good thing to come out of it was a punishing test for the hatch and seal I'd been working on. It took me nearly 3 hours to take one set of lipo's from 16.80 down to 15.44 the result of bad weather, servo, driving and set up but it was a heap of fun and we got some cool footage. I plan on cutting the stinger down so the drive dog will line up, I think it's time this hull gets to see an inch or so of water surface.
Here's a few pic's of the hardwear and hatch seal.

thats some heavy chop. when i was running a ul-1 motor it was topping off at 35 mph but would run heavy chop really easy. when i upgraded the motor and got some real speed, i lost that deep v purpose. its fast now but heavy chop isnt an option anymoreComment

I don't think I'll drive in those winds again in a hurry, I'm having more fun watching it now than I did when I was trying to drive it. I fluked three pack/runs over 60 (one was 64) running in smaller chop with pretty good handling a few runs ago and had this idea I might be able to free it up a little more and see if it'll do it again, no more, I'll keep this boat doing 50 if it kills me.lol.Comment

after almost a year of struggling to get the boat running well with the batteries up front causing a high COG in combination with the long stinger and finding that there is no hull in the water at high speed I have finally installed adjustable battery trays to bring the COG back and I've cut almost an inch off the stinger. I still need a few runs to get it right but she's a lot more stable and the last inch or so of the hull is in the water most of the time. Temps are not an issue in any way, I ran it for nearly 9 minutes last night and everything came in cool running a dasboata x442 and my speed has finally dropped to around 55mph and holds both the streights and turns well.
Here's a few pic's of my battery tray's and new layout.

new issue, at around 45mph she still has abount an inch of hull at the transome in the water but now it's rock and rolling side to side over those speeds, (dasboata x442) what do I try now??Comment

Mine would rock sometimes...... Have you checked your keele , some times they are not perfectly strait like my Titan ,sometimes I wonder if I had sanded it even with a plain that the rocking would have stopped.... I have a new Titan that am going to build when I have time, will be my third T29 build so will take the good from my other builds and some new ideas .... Mine has the rails this time"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction."
