Thanks mate, I'm hoping to get a chance over the weekend, I just have time between the business and the bad weather. When I do, I'll get some footage.

I managed to get a quick couple of minutes run in this afternoon, sorry no time for video but it wouldn't be worth my time if I had it. I think the x640 was way too small for this set up, lots of cavitation and had trouble biting, once it did bite it was a rocket but rocked around very unsteady by about 1/2- 3/4 throttle, I managed to hit about 7/8 throttle on one run and she was about to grow wings and fly. I had the trim tabs up way too high for this first run due to my only experience being the df35 that I had running too wet and all this has taught me is that these boats seem to be complete opposites in handling. I will lower the trim tabs to level with the bottom of the hull and I will stick on the x445 or maybe the m545 to see what happens. I think it's time for me to get the eagle tree system up and running to save any smelly hull syndrome. The strut might need to be lowered a bit too to keep her down a bit. The batteries up front put the rtr cog somewhere between 33-35%, would my guess of a combination of the high cog, the strut level at zero and the prop a little small be what's causing the cavitation? Also, can someone let me know if there's a big difference in amp draw between the octura 445 and 545, I understand different hulls will pull more and so forth but I'm hoping someone may have ran both of these two prop's and have logged some data.

I will correct myself and put on a x642 next, I forgot I had that in the prop box.

I think the x445 may work out the best.................an m445 even better............good luck with the next run!!

I gave it another run today and crashed pretty hard, The impact broke the epoxy off where I'd fitted the front hatch hold down and the tape lifted allowing about 1/4 cup of water inside the hull. I'm sure everything will be fine, not a lot of water got on the electronics and my cameraman drove it back in to shore. Once I opened it up I also noticed the esc mount I'd epoxied had also come loose on one side so I guess I'll have sand the area better and do a little more work b4 I can get her wet again.
I think she's gunna need either a smaller motor or a slower prop, the gsp read 85.7kph - 53.25mph I was running the x642 with the trim tabs about 2mm above level.

getting epoxy to stick to these aeromarine hulls is tough. you really have to sand it extremely well with 80 grit paper. automotive sandpaper works the best. slow cure epoxy too

yeah, your right. After a little loosening from my crash and a few minutes pushing and pulling with my fingers, I've managed to remove both the motor mount and the esc mount, you'd never know they where there. So, now realising the importance of sanding and roughing up the area before useing epoxy, I have been playing around with my layout a little and would like some feed back on my new option. I'm thinking of making up a couple of battery trays that will be a bit longer than the batteries allowing me to adjust the cog better. I'm thinking that if I stand the batteries end up, they'll center the weight a little better than if I lay them down. The tray's will have adjustable straps so I can move the batteries back and forth and I'll put a support rail to keep them off the motor and esc. So before I go to all this work, could anyone advise me on weather I should give this layout a try, or should I stick to a layout more like properchoppers and angle the batteries along the floor?
                      Here's a few pic's of what I'm thinking:

My first attempt was with 30 min epoxy right over the carbon with half assed sanding. It looked beautiful but when I stuck tape to it and peeled it came off in sheets. The thing I noticed was 30 min stuff is really brittle. I switched to a 4 hour epoxy and sanded it crazy now it is permanent. Then I used 30 min to glue all my stuff to that. 30 min is better for adhering things together. The finishing resin is a really good base because of it's cure time, and is more flexible and less brittle

thanks mate, How do you think that layout options would work out, is it worth me trying this way (as in pic's), you think?

                            I honestly can't say. I'm just starting my Titan 29. I built a mm so that's a different animal.

can anyone let me know which layout I should go b4 I epoxy it properly this time, keep it the same as I had it, or try the above, see pic's

You really need to use proper laminating resin on carbon or glass cloth somethng like West 105 resin with 206 hardener or Z Poxy wing skinning resin & not Epoxy glue. Martin.
