    Aeromarine Cyclone Cat Build

Well I progressed a little further. I have added additional dense foam at the bottom of the hull on either side. I am in the Auto industry, so I have access to the foam the they use to ship windshields in. which surrounds the glass. It is extremely dense and boyuant.

Next I built two battery trays. I joined a 12" and a 6" piece of 1.5mm C/F. I reinforced them from the bottom, with C/F 1/4" square tubing, and epoxied it all together. They fit perfectly on both sides of the hull, and allow me to move my CG, quite a bit.

Before I epoxy the trays in place, I will add Velcro staps for added security, so the batteries don't go flying around, in the event of a crash..

    Until next time.

PS, I have been watching the rest of you do your thing. You guys are really amazing, creative and talented.
I tried to post pic's, but having trouble.

Great work Jeff, it makes me feel good that I passed this beauty on to someone who is treating her right.

for the pics, you can also upload them to photobucket then when you are there, you right click on the photo and do a "copy image location" then when back here, you can click on the "insert image" icon second from right above these posting windows, then you get the pic in the post as opposed to an attachment. pretty easy once its explained.

kudos, I am watching with glee!

Next I will work on the mounting for the HV240. It is harder to mount, due to the fact I added the extra cap. It takes up some extra room.
But here are those pictures I promised
I will try to upload some pictures of the current progress again. I have a new camera, and it is a 14 megapixel. I am trying to shrink them before trying to post them.

Continued luck to the rest of you builders as well.

sweet, you may have setting on your camera for an internet resolution that could make it so you don't have to shrink anything - just upload and love it.

OK, just a few more steps accomplished at this point. I needed a place for the speed control and added ETTI cap bank. I used some left over C/F, mounted it to two aluminum L brackets, and secured it to the stringers. I also ran all of the large water cooling tubing, and secured it to the stringers with some brass eye hooks.

I am still waiting on my Velcro, before I permanantly mount the battery trays.

Another couple of hours to tidy things up and I am ready for testing and tuning, the C/G.

And plenty of room for the GPS, so I can see how well this Leopard puts out on 8s2p.

And Jesse, you were right about the camera. There is a mode for PC pictures. Thanks so much.

            Until next time.

Just a couple of more posts to go. Final layout for the speed control was done today, along with the correct rotation of the motor. And since batteries are on both sides of the boat I had to layout two pieces of high amp cable mounted to the stringers for my series parallel setup.

The bench test sounded great, but I never free rev a motor too high without a load. But I must say, it was pretty impressive, for my 1st step away from the Neu motors.

Again, just waiting on the Velcro still. So that and the battery tray placement will be complete next week. Next Saturday, it is off to the Lake for test and tune.

              Thanks for watching,

              Jeff

Here are a couple of pictures before I permanently mount the battery trays to the hull. I pinned and glued the Velcro straps. The side of the trays have 1" by 1/8" indents, as to allow the battery trays to sit snugly against inboard and outboard of the hull wells. There is also Velcro running the length of the trays, but in case of rough water, or a roll over, I don't want the batteries flying around.

The only thing left after this, is get it into the water.

Again, good luck with all of your endeavours. And thank you for the comments along the way, and the supoort.

If I get some video, I will pass it along.

That is one of the best looking Aeromarine Cats I have seen. Cool build Jeff! I will be watching.

Thanks Randy, I learned alot from you, when you made me that amazing 4s Rigger. I watch your builds, and still I am amazed at how you manufacture so many different items. Keep up the great work!

                      All the best,

It is great to see that some one still loves my rigger and it was not sold and lost in the void. Thanks for the praise it makes quiet days go buy faster/easer.

The top left Cyclone is mine!!! That was my first gas boat build. It is powered by a modded 35cc QuickDraw.
