You said your balance point is at 12"...Do you mean from the transom or from the back of the sponson?

Get a pool noodle and cut it in half long ways the lenght of you lipo's and wedge it on top of them between the upper deck to keep them from any movement, just the velcrow could let them bounce a little and give the boat a slight upper jolt.............like your style bro ! Your trying to provoke a speed war....HaHaHa !!!

I start at the very rear where the rudder mounts.

You should measure from the rear of the sponsons.Same place where a stinger would mount if it were a twin drive.

I was just thinking if the hull was not square the very rear of the boat would be the best place to start from.

84 mph with a Leopard 4082 doesnt compute in my little brain...
In theory all he needs is 6S and a v942/3 prop to get there. It would be a SAW-only setup and would stress the ESC (what ESC is he using?), but it is possible in theory. I doubt the boat could set a record but it might hit 90 on the GPS....but not with the CG so far back.....

I will show you how i balance my boats. First you need to run the boat and find a good spot to start from. Then make a mark on the boat where you balanced it at. Run the boat and check your speed. Now move the batteries only a 1/4 of a inch at a time. This might take some time to find your best balance. Also your prop angle needs to match your balance. Think of your prop as if its drawing a straight line. If your prop angle is to high, you will have a nice rooster but this will not be the fastest setup. This might help some of the less experienced.
