    Another mean machine build?

I know there is already a few of these builds in progress right now, but I'm gonna add mine to the mix. Just picked up this flood hull from jmscard for a steal and started removing all the innards. The adhesive used is real-hard and doesn't soften too well when I heated it up with my heat gun. I did get everything removed but still need to clean up all the excess epoxy.

I already have a new castle 1512 and t-120 I'm gonna be using. Next I'll need to install some carbon fiber or fiberglass to beef up the flimsy hull.

Can you tell me what size prop shaft fits the strut provided with the "water damaged" hulls?

Word on the water is that these handle very well, good luck with the build.

Im working on mine and I tore everything out but the radio box.
Any thoughts as weather I should keep it and seal it up, or just yank it out and be done with it?

I'd yank it out. I takes up a lot of space and is just extra weight IMO.

extra weight and really no good purpose. i wish i could get a hold of the new hatch for mine. but i guess ill be making one. might cut up and sv27 hatch to use in the custom one. good luck on the build! i just used some 120 grit sand paper on my hull to clean up that epoxy they use to mount every thing. seemed to get it off fast and not go into the glass to much. mine has 2 layers of CF over the center tub and a 3rd directly under the motor mount.

I ended up using the dremmel to grind down all the adhesive. I'm gonna use a couple layers of fiberglass and then a final layer of colored c/f.

Got some Carbon fiber laid up and the castle 1512 prepped with an etti mount and 1515 jacket to mock up the stuffing tube.

Got the motor mount installed, flex cable cut, steering linkage hooked up, and am making a little esc/rx mount out of thin ply so I can get it up off the hull a bit and get a zip tie around the esc. Just have to make some flat battery trays and seal up the holes in the hatch and I should be just about there.

OK, all done! Filled the air holes in the canopy with small pieces of thin plastic coated with epoxy. Esc mount is in place and everything is hooked up. Batteries are charging and I'll get my first run in tomorrow after work on 4s2p with the m545. FE calc puts speed at about 45mph.

I'd swap the lines on the cooling can. Force the can to fill before it spews out the water. Looks sweet though!
