Yeah I got the mold from a friend and guess what, he doesn't want it back!

This boat can be set up with the speedmaster stingers and a seedmaster rudder or chinese as you can see in the photos. The cost of these is 1/5th of the arneson drives and rudder, the look is not so scale but they do the job.

I was very hesitant to build big cats because of the very high cost of hulll, hardware setup but I found the mold, I found the castles 1717 on the sale and following other threads to see how they run with the Turnigys 180 and decided to go for it. I had the hardware so it didn't cost that much. The speed of this will be higher after some tuning, this was only the first test.
Anyway if you are interested I can make one for you with or without the hardware installed, I have to calculate the cost but roughly starting from $300 for hull only with glass or $400 like mine (carbon-kevlar bottom, kevlar top) which is super strong.

Vinyl decals are ready, full pages are A3 size, and the boat will be painted soon. You can compare the size of it...The 29-38" boats look small...

When I started building this boat I thought to leave the gel coat without painting, but after running the boat I want to make it look nice, I am not a professional with molds. I filled the sides so that the seam not to be visible and sides to be flat and some small imperfections on the back. I will paint only the upper part.

Your setup sounds safe, for escs I would use the turnigys 180, you will need big props, min.460 I think. Nice boat!

the cost of the hardware (struts,rudder,teflon-tubes, flex &shafts, collets) is about $350 including the shipping
cost of the boat: about $300-$400 depends on material
                        cost of motor,esc,servo,battery mounts : about $100

so I guess max $900. But... the gel coat will not be very glossy and the seam although it will be very strong, may not have the best appearance but these can be overcome by painting the boat as I will do.

How much your boat cost?the one in the video if you sell it, could you give more pictures of it with the cowl attached, the back and the bottom. Is it stable in a very choppy water?

it is very stable, the most stable boat in rough water that I have run, because of its size. I went 60 mph very easily, as you can see in the vid the water is not perfect

I will send you a pm when I finish the painting and decals

I got the paint, from a car paint shop same color with hydrolift.

My question is shall I apply the clear coat and then the decals or the decals first and then the clear coat? Until now I normally apply the decals and then clear coat and did not have any problems, but maybe there are different ideas?

It better to stick the decals first and after that apply the clear coat so the decals doesn't worn out or get detached from the hull. Don't know what others would think
