Yes millzee go for it, the setup with the 1717s works 100%. I just took out the 1717s to test the 1527s on 6s and later on 8s.
Where's a good place to start looking a a 45-50" cat to put these puppies in, I've spent a few hours looking but it's a bit hard when I don't know where to look?
Thunderbolt is 55" but that includes the transom overhang,i have one here im planning on removing the top and using an avenger style bottom and making something from the two parts. Also i dont like all the vents on the tbolt so will be removing some of those from the hatch.

just want to say thank you for all the great photos and info.. I have never built a boat but I plan to.. Same type of deal twin brushless, cat hull.. it's easy to see that there are many different ways to build a boat.. learning all the time..... I have been racing dirt oval 1:10 cars for 4 years and reading on this forum I have learned alot about brushless and lipo..
Thanks Again,

will keep looking for the final pis and will be interested in the results
This boat is huge and can handle rough water well...
After this run shown on the vid I adjusted the shafts even with the sponsons bottom and parallell and seemed to run more stable.
Harry, I do not know the amp draw exactly, but I estimate (as I remember)
with the 1717s on 6s ,
445s around avg.80-90A max 130A
448/3s avg. 110A max 150A
and 1527s on 6s
450/3s avg 90A max 130A
457s avg 100-110 max 150A
