I am really following this. Hope you can Eagle Tree and GPS the Sniper with your upgrade. Max speed I was able to record was 45 MPH with it. I experimented with several different inrunner and outrunner motors. (all running with a Seaking 90 ESC) Stock set up is indeed 25 MPH with the small inrunner. Important to set the trim tabs properly so the boat does not rock side-to-side at high speeds. When set correctly is is bullet-straight! A real fun, reliable FE in my opinion.

Glad to see you're having fun. Just to clarify I wouldn't run the stock motor on 4s. Even with a larger esc. Because of the longer runtimes with batteries, I had heating issues with the stock motor and prop on 4s. If someone does I would suggest short runs.

how long were you running yours on 4s?

I just ordered the Vortex Hydro 16. So why are these boats using outrunners? Was this to keep the cost down? I always understood that outrunners are not designed for boats cause of their limitations but see that they are used. So what's the real story, is it cause these are smaller boats and the size:ratio has less effect? I know that outrunners are to have more torque and less top end but find many outrunners with the same KV as inrunners. So what am I missing here?

outrunners make lots of power in a small package

I see. So another question. What is better saying that the system will be 11.1v 3s; an outrunner that is 3-4s capable/rating with say 3200kv or an outrunner that is 2-3s with the same kv of 3200kv? Meaning if both are used in the same setup would one have any advantage over the other with the same voltage or will the 3-4s capable motor with the same kv just run slower and heat up less?

Ran today....kinda. The lakes froze up over night. I found a small opening. Too small. Big enough to show me it has LOTS of potential for speed! Once the lakes are solid, the canal between opens up, and I can run all winter. About a week away by the look of it. I knew this would be a good combo for this boat, keeping it pretty light with the S size can and sigle 4s2p 4000mah pack. I know this motor gets an SV ripping, so this thing should be plenty capable of 50.
I think I'll try a Venom 3 blader aluminum too.

Also, I have a watts up meter to throw in her, so I can log some data. Havent used it but on the bench yet.

Rummy, where do you get your Venom Props? I find everywhere I want a Stock one or the cast aluminum they want at least $12 shipping...

Thats a bit steep, if you can get them cheap, would you be able to ship them reasonably to me?

OSE has the red onesin stock. I dont have one yet, considering it though.
