2s packs came in. One had a bad cell. I had to send it back. Ran it with two 4s 3300mah packs in paralell. Ran really good on a grim 42/55 until the outrunner end cap came partially off and spun around like a knife! Locktited the screws this time and ran it again with a new S&B x-642. Great prop. Ran about 40mph on 4s. brought it back in and the motor was separating! Another set screw that came loose! Got it put back together with some more locktite. I ordered another motor I wanna try out. Got it from the castle sale. Its a little bigger in diameter and if its anything like the castle inrunners I'll be really happy with it!!

It still works. Its a great 25 dollar motor. I'm starting to really like the outrunners!

I agree, but the turnigy typhoon doesn't have that "whine"

I got the castle outrunner installed today. Its larger in diameter than the typhoon, and it has that supercharged sounding "whine"!!

Unfortunately I think I puffed my 4s packs! They sat in the blackjack for a couple of days after I ran it. They were still plugged into the esc and I think I may have hit the lvc on my last run just before bringing it in. My hyperion charger wont charge them and says "check pack, low voltage"

No problem Scott. Charge them for a few minutes as a nimh and bring them back to a recognizable voltage. Then you will be cooking with crisco.

I was able to get a run in today with the castle outrunner. Impressive motor! Got a gps reading of 37.8mph on the H/K typhoon outrunner(1800kv) on 2-3300mah 4s packs in parallel with an x642.

The Castle outrunner(same kv) got me 43.3mph with the same prop and heavier 4950mah 4s packs in parallel. Motor temp was around 110 degrees. I'm anxious to get some 2s packs to cut down the weight and gain a little mph. The blackjack is a little small for 4s2p.

Still not too happy with the performance of the 45 amp esc. Its too touchy and I have a seaking 60 that I'll probably replace it with.

Hey great minds think a like. I just got a BJ about 3 weeks ago from craigslist, guy is a member here and did a AMAZING job on it. Custom decals and fullers outdrive really setup it up wonderfully. I'm using this hull to break into the outrunners. I set it up with a Tiger outrunner I bought from the swap shop and a x642 did not gps it but after about 4 passes on 4s the motor came in at 105F and the esc was 65F (stock BJ 45amp), water was about 45F. This outrunner had watercooling, not sure why she came in so hot. It's only 1600kv and rated at 5s. I bought the typhoon outrunner last month and it took 4 weeks to get here from Hobbycity because I didn't use express shipping. Haven't had a chance to run that motor yet though. I also have the CC outrunner being sent, when you showed me it on the hotr thread I started I gained interest. Glad you like it, I will use a seaking 120 on mine.

Don't want to thread-jack but here she is. I call her Miss America lol

I ran it only once and handled great. I'll have to get a better shot of the outdrive, it's freaking long as hell. OK, I will take them off, looking for mostly straightline speed anyway. Goal for this boat is learning outrunners!
