    New toy cat

Hey guys, normaly i design and build my hulls/boats but seen this in the local model shop and thought id give 1 a try just to play around with while building.
Must say really impressed with the quality of the hull, all edges are sharp and no imperfections, like warping or uneven ride pads etc.
Theres 2 x 70 watercooled escs,2x 2860,2881kv motors, they do have plastic cooling jackets on but thinking of changing these anyway for 2 leopard motors.
34mm counter rotating props, and got some 3s lipos but gonna order some more.
also got 2 x arneson styled cnc struts and motor mounts.twin water pick ups.
    Hull is 820mm x 240mm x 120mm.

Hopefully find out tomorrow as im taking it for maiden run,im not expecting much from the motors but im thinking of changing them anyway.
The guy in the shop said he and a colleague took both the venom and this 1 down to the lake and said this was alot more stable and slightly faster and reckons with a decent pr of motors shoving along and some trim adjustments could be alot of fun but thats what i brought it for

F1,if you dont mind,Id like to make a couple suggestions for you.1st would be to get a SpeedMaster mino hydro rudder assembly to replace the stocker.2nd,Id gut the hull and re-inforce it.

Watch your overall weight. High COG with batts in the middle. Flips easy at speed.

+1 about the rudder. They aren't break away and will jumble themselves up if hit. Go big on the rudder if you can.

Also, Wheel collars on the cables will prevent shaft loss when/if the couplers fail.

No dont mind sugestions,i have thought of gutting as i tried my 4s packs in the way it is and cant put the canopy on,will look at getting a different rudder for it.
But for now just gonna run it to get to know how this style of hull works and set up,while i get the leopard motors etc.
Ill get some carbon to reinforce it and do a rebuild once i got all the stuff together.
Was gonna try and run it today but forgot to charge the batts and had other stuff to do aswell will try in the next day or two

when i strip it down gonna put the batts in the sponsons in front of the motors is that the best place to put them,

                            Yep will do

Sound, never thought of that as this is the 1st artr iv brought and the first twin motor jobbie and the 1st cat.

Your cat is pretty well the same as a junker EKOS.Look at the EKOS threads and youll get some good ideas and pics to refer too.I know your not an newbie just throwing stuff out there.I just re-built my EKOS for the 2nd time.Look at the SeaKing 120 thread. Also,if you have the degree increments marked on the stingers, they arent accurate so,youll have to measure.
