Its what Ive always used on it and it seems to work very well.
Awesome. Cant wait to see the pics. Im hopefully doing one tonight in the Genesis.
Actually, I re-looked at my solder. The holder says "General purpose" whether thats plumbing solder or not, I could tell you for sure. However, I did get it where the plumbing solder is.Comment

Hears alittle update!!!!filled around the inlet with epoxy cuz i made the hole to big!!! and did some touchup,, dont look to bad now!!!! Decided not to epoxy the motor mount down and decided to make some brackets to put it in that way the brackets will be epoxied and then i can still remove the complete mount if needed and if i want i can cut slots in the motor mounts sides so i can slide the mount forward or back...PS any advise or comments are welcome, please!!!!!

I noticed you didn't have water pickup but the make a surface mount pickup that goes on the bottom of the boat and they work great!! I think right here on OSE if I remember correctly.
I have some links on my website you can look around and see if you can find anything for a mini I know the R2 hobbies link has some ok stuff I use their struts on my mini they have two styles. (first off my boat is 16" long not counting the hardware,) a blue one with 2 90d angles or a red one (mine came clear anodized) which I am using it is an 1/8" prop shaft with a bearing!! both run $10.00 bucks USD. any way keep up the great work!!! my link is in my signature.Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

Jerry,
what I have been doing is to use epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth first on the inside bottom and let that cure then add a coat to gloss it up as for the motor mount I rough up the edge of the mount with some like 80 grit sand paper about 1/8" up I pre measure where I want to place the mount then I coat the sanded edge with resin and stick it to the floor and that is all there is to it they stick and do not come out until you take it out with a dremel tool or something like that, I use the 30 minute kind for those.Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!

Hey Jerry, it looks like you just didnt get the cloth saturated enough. If that is the case, you may not have a good bond. Could be misleading in the pics, but its what it looks like.Comment

The brackets i made that are connected to the mount sides were not perfectly flat on the floor so i forced the epoxy under them and i had cut the holes in the centers for the epoxy to flow threw then while wet i put down the little FG cloth squares, two over each bracket, and then put more epoxy over all that,,kinda bulky looking but i think it will be ok,,,,
Peels i was going to just glue it down but with the brackets i figured i could remove the hole thing if needed!!!
Cut out the slot for the stuffing tube and cut and bent the stuffing tube and cut the flex shaft to lenght tonight ,,the CA is drying wright now and then tomorrow ill epoxy over it and pics ofcorse....Comment

Well Jerry, I dont think you will be taking out your motor mount any time soon, I never do well that is a lie I retired my first boat I ever made and removed the motor mount for my Nitro hunter and plished it up but now it is glued in and not coming out, (I have a build thread on that one somewhere on here and man I really need to paint it, I am modifying the rudder stand on it (making a new one)Peter Eells; Fun, and Helping others To Have Fun!!!
