Usually when I make a comparison statement like you did it would be with the same setup as the other person. 5s and 6s on that motor are night and day difference.

I ran it on 6s (6 2s packs in series and parallel) with the same 240LV and 452. it performs better on 5s with the bigger prop. Thats why i posted the 5s set up.

            Now on to that 1717!!!!!!!!

I was actually going to run my Sport 40 on 5s but then decided it would be cheaper to buy a 1527 1Y instead of all new packs. I ended up putting the 1Y in my HEAVY AM SprintCat with 6s2p but so far I am not real happy with the speed. I think I am just being to conservative on my prop selection though, next time out I have a couple big props to try on it and see if it wakes up.

I am guessing the 1717 should push a 457 without a problem. I will prob start with a 450 and work my way up.

My 1527 1.5d was in the sprintcat 40 on 5s2p with a hydra 240. I settled on the x455. Power was insane! I had to feather it onto plane or it would launch right onto it's lid. It ran a consistant 63mph with that setup. I considered 6s with a smaller prop, but figured, why even try it with the speed I'm getting. Cant wait to hear how the 1717 does!!

                      Ray,

Have you had a chance to run this combo?

                      Later,
                      Mike
