so after falling in love... justifying to ourselves and pulling the trigger, this is the next build.

25ish inches long, 5 or so inches wide, very scale beautiful lady, here she is in "before" pics and a sneak preview of the paint scheme she be gettin. (let it be known, that is NOT my bedding)

until I get download privelages, I am stuck with these lo res and watermarked pics. I will work on replicating all the lettering but need better pics for that.

That is NOT my bedding, I have much better taste.

Nice Jesse. I wish I could have picked up that hull. Just didnt have the extra dough at the moment. After you finish with it send her my way....seriously. I'll be keeping an eye on this one she is sweeeeeeet!!!!

Yipee! bench test success! All hardware installed. I ended up using the same hardware as my Mini X (MHZ told me for the second time that they no longer had in stock what I had ordered - and refunded my money).

Motor, 2300 KV Ammo 36-something.
Cooler from Kintec racing,
motor mount: OFE - but the smaller 380 size (didn't want to use up all my working room),
strut/rudder: rcworldwide.com.hk (ebay specials),
servo: traxxas micro waterproof high torque and really quick (OFE),
speedo: some 70amp hi-model like bugger.

I went with a 7/32 stuffing tube (exiting about 1/4-3/8" above base of Vee, fiberglassed it inside and added two supports, since it is so long) and teflon liner... but then realized I had .130 stubs but no .130 flex AND I had .150 flex but no .150 stubs.... While the .130 flex is arriving I slid .098 teflon inside and then one of my 1/16" Jeff Wholt wire drives... I know a sign of true and dedicated addiction. It is actually the quietest FE I have ever heard, just sits there and purrs like a kitten.

I debated back and forth on the position of motor/batts and decided on motor way forward with ESC right next to it on port-side (counteracting torque roll and weight of rudder). This allows some play in battery positioning, but mostly allows access to the transom from the inside - my grubby mitts barely fit as it is! This is the tightest non micro build I have done yet.

for the servo, I made a little box out of ply and glassed that over the stuffing tube (allowing batteries to hit the transom if need be). and as always .078" piano wire with slight jog in it to minimize any play. I probably placed the rudder a little close to the thrust cone, but since this will not be making any sharp turns, I figured it was not going to be major issue. I used 6oz glass and 2ton Epoxy on both stuffing tube and servo box, with minor amounts of CF plate - mostly for looks.

I have since added tubing and she is sitting there patiently (or less so) waiting for her maiden voyage. She is in her undergarments in these pics, primer, but I will update as painting proceeds.

Looks great Jeese...I'm thinking trim tabs may be manditory...atleast that was in my plans for it.

well, I don't know. I know there are those on here who actually do use just some fuel tubing and no nuts. I use a nut with fuel tubing behind it - that was just to give you the idea. to answer your question, if I hit something that hard, I think the prop will probably be more like weed fertilizer than something to move a boat forward.

Nice looking hull there...............man, that drivline looks so thin..............is it sturdy? Never seen one like that.

You mean the wire drive? its 1/16" and I hope it holds until I go to .130" flex. I may stick with it if it works ok - it sure is quiet!

or do you mean the stuffing tube? it is wrapped up in fiberglass like an anaconda in a mummy bag. The stuffing tube won't budge, the wire drive.... update after I have some data.
