Sponson walk, yes. But, it can still be initiated by the prop. I call it chine walk on monos, when they're at speed. While planing, or under acceleration, prop walk. Since hydros don't have chines, I call it prop walk. Can't remember who it was on here that coined the term "hospital hop", but I like that one too.

Not sure on the weight Detox. I'll try to get her weighed tomorrow at work though.

I'm gonna start out with a detounged x642 and 2- 2s 5800 30c batteries. I'll set the strut like yours and take it from there. Did you run 2-2s or 2-4s packs?

back to the water in the boat, don't you guys put a sponge in your boat? I also use a hand crank fuel pump to check cooling systems... works great

Sometimes, I use a sponge. I'm not happy getting ANY water in my boat though. With this boat, the water that was in the hull wasnt near the electronics though. So no biggie. The culprit was definately the silicone jacket though. Ran dry last time out, besides some grease splatter. Gonna do the ol velcro trick to remedy that though. I'm still contemplating yanking the motor mount out and using a traditional style mount. That way I can use a real water jacket.

I used this mount etti-h010 very easy to line up perfect and with the motor near the top of the adjustment I am able to use the shorter of the aluminum coolers for the Leopard motor. I still have enough clearence that I probably could have used the x long cooler also.

Ran again today. Bent the P.O.S. AQ turn fin about 35 degrees out in a turn, and it blew over in the straight. Good thing I have a better fin on order. Ran a m445. I like it! Super cool temps too!

Wizard, I have a couple options to try. I bought the upgrade up-1 fin from kintec racing. I also made my own fin. It is a bent fin instead of curved. Both new ones are around .090" thick. We'll see what works best.

No not yet. Hope to run this evening. I've had something going on everyday, or it's breezy, or.... We share our pond with the sail guys and the scale guys here, there was a sailing regatta at the pond this morning but it should be over after dinner so I want to get over there one way or another. It's driving me nuts reading about yours and looking at mine just sitting there. HOPE to post some results or video tonight. Which AQ fin did you have, I've got the upgrade thicker one. I also made one off the plans so I can try that one too.

See what did I just say. We were getting ready to go to the pond and my broter-in-law that painted the boat called to ask me to go and look at a ATV he wanted to buy. So here I am 7 hrs. later and the boat is no closer to the water than it was. At least he ended up buying the ATV. He did do a nice paint job on my boat, but man I hate oweing favors. Maybe Mon or Tue I'll get a chance to run it, MAYBE.

hehehe. That sucks. Dropped my strut down to .750" Today, with a tad neg angle, and she ripped! The fin you have should be fine. Mine was the same as stock ul-1, but polished, not black. It flexes waaaay too much. I like the M445!
