The motor has an outer can,I guess you can call it.The jacket is over that.Ive never seen something like it before.Havent ran it yet.The hull also has a water cooled mount.Im sure it will be fine as far as heat goes.

if you are still looking for 6s motor you can also test this one

      http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0_Heli_(1400kv)

      with this motor mount
      http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80230

I use this mount with a scorpion 4025 and fits nicely

I used to run the Align in the past on 4-5s for sure the 180A can handle it with 45mm props

Have you run this motor before? What about cooling?I like to run my boats for more than 5 minutes.I never ran an outrunner before-much less in a closed up hull.I have that exact mount in the mono hull already so that could save me a few bucks there. The rest of my running boats all run 4s,but Id like to try something a little hotter for more power and speed.

The 1400 kv not yet, waiting for it.
The Align I had a similar cooling jacket like yours but at that time there were no cooling mounts. I had some temperature issues in my df 35" ( 170 F) and I changed it.
I bet that the the Turnigy 1400 is by far better and bigger than the Align.
The outrunners also like a cooling fan to keep the temps down.

I have the back filled with some fiberglass filler.I dont know the exact name if it,but it works awsome and is hard a rock.I think if I hit something the hull would disenegrate and my f.g. filler would still be intact.A little finishing putty fills in some minor imperfections and it ready for the mounting holes for the hardware.I have to read up on the tips and info section for drilling the stuffing tube hole.Im not sure if I want to use a teflon liner or not.Im also worried about water seepage through the stuffing tube.Flex shaft will be .150.

Got back to trying to polish my turd of a mono.I finally got a rudder/mount that will physically fit on the transom. Its a SpeedMaster mini mono rudder. It barely fits.I originally wanted a dual pick-up,but this one will do.
I bought some paint stripper and there were 9 LAYERS OF PAINT!!!I almost couldnt believe it.I could feel a weight difference from before and after stripping.

Freshly painted interior. Its International Harverster white.Probably going with an IH paint theme. Also made a mount for the Turnigy 180 esc just ahead of the motor. Also used a new aluminum servo mount from OSE and made a mount for it from the same plywood as esc mount.

Here it is with esc,Align 600 1650kv outrunner, new stuffing tube, and possible battery placement.I plan to use 6s for this build,so as a precaution to the T-180,Ill be disabling the BEC.I also just bought a Leopard 4082 1500kv that will end up in here.Im sure the outrunner will get hot,but I have to try it.

Hey Larry that Align motor will be fine in there on 6s no problem. The speed controller won't smoke either. I would try it on 15deg timing and run with x442 prop for starters. That motor is rated at 70a constant and 85a for a minute so the t180 will be fine. That's a fine looking water jacket btw......

Ive decided Im not painting this hull. Its my rat boat. Now,I dont have to worry too much about the hull and its something different.I ran it with a Leopard 4082 1500kv on 6s with a X447 and it did plenty of hoppin.I think the prop was too big,but theres always more testing. Now it has the Align outrunner for the next run.And the cooling jacket is sweet.

This junk boat hops like mad!I propped down, adjusted the stinger, messed with COG..etc.COG was at 9 7/8" and still hopped.Tried 10",still hoppin. Now Im getting frustrated.I cant seem to get this thing to run wet at all.The entire hull is out of the water.I can hold the throttle at half and its fine-above that, its back to the hump. This is my 1st mono,so Im new to this style of hull.Any suggestions?
