I made a couple of different pickups to try but hopefully I can get it figured out before going that route. I made a prop wash pick-up and a sponson pick up. I drilled out the rudder and elongated the pick-up hole to the leading edge of the blade. I also drilled out the nipples on the esc and motor.

Could it be just a bad motor? everything else barely breaks 100*
George, As motors run more and more, especially when they run at upper temp limits, the magnets begin to lose their magnetism [gaussian flux density] and draw more more current to reach max rpm. I've seen Jay T. mention this many times. Watercooling only treats the symptoms, not the cause. Do you have an alternative motor to try ?

I hear ya about de-magnetizing the motor. I don't want to try another till I know for sure that the water cooling is working properly. Even after a run very little water is left in the system.

Okay fellas I think I can report that I found the problem. I now can see water flow and the motor still runs hot. I took it out and put it in my rigger and same thing. I put a 8xl in here and she run nice and cool and much faster too! Guess I just got a bad motor from the get go. Probably just put a 9or 10xl in here and call it done.

Thanks again for all the help. I'll try to get some video next time out.

Well while waiting for the 9xl to come I have logged in some runs with the 8xl. After a few runs I decided to prop up a bit and stretch out her legs. At the end of the straight she had a horrible blow over. Cracked and chipped the paint in a few spots and bent the turn fin pretty well. After straightening it out and changing the COG the fin kept bending out in the turns. I decided to make a new one with a little different design (not that the original wasn't good). Here's a look. I will be trying it out tomorrow.

When shes all trimmed out I will touch up the paint and add the driver back on.
