Yep. The dark paint had lots of orange peel even after heating the can, so I had to give it a quick color sand and then I sand and buffed the clear coat also.

Well got all the hardware bolted up to the hull and the motor mounted. Just need to put the esc and reciever in and run cooling lines and she goes.

Nah I had the boats loaded in the truck and realized I forgot to put the floatation in. Just so happen I grabbed the one i use for my mono.

I took it out today. Put her in hit the throttle, go to turn and boom into the coconut tree on the bank. The steering was reversed She ran stable but for some reason the motor was running HOT! On a couple of runs there was smoke, but not electrical burn smell, although the motor was hot. I think the driveline is binding. I did some work tonight by shortening the bushing and adding some grease reliefs. Will try it out tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

What motor and prop are you using? The heat could be nothing more than too much prop or the wrong motor for this hull. Another possibility is the strut setting. On this size hull you may need to raise the strut to loosen up the large hull and reduce the load on the motor.

Jay I'm using a "blue" SV motor with a 442 (started with a 445 and went as small as a 440/3). Strut setting is 7/8" from the bottom of the hull. She's not running wet eighter.

George, I'm thinking that the BJ 1500 KV motor with the 442 would be a "stronger" choice. I really like the torque of that motor & it puts out the watts !

Funny thing is that when I was dialing in my BJ/Titan 29 LSO setup the motor gave off a "smokey" smell until the assembly oil burned off - all's OK with it now.

                          Just a thought.

Okay I "think" I found the problem. I don't see any water comming out of my outlet. Not really sure if it is "the" problem but it's probably contributing to it. Why is it not going through I have no idea. Nothings plugged but there is a small leak around the nipple (that was even funny typing it). I wouldn't think that would keep the whole system from flowing. Weird.

George, I don't know if this will help, but I've had flow problems when the water fittings are screwed into the jacket so far as to bottom out and restrict flow. I routinely file a groove across the bottom of the threads with a hacksaw blade to prevent this from happening. Just a suggestion

Thanks Tony, all suggestions are welcome. This jacket has been in use before but I just opened her up to make certain it didn't change. I added another rubber washer for extra clearance.

I made a couple of different pickups to try but hopefully I can get it figured out before going that route. I made a prop wash pick-up and a sponson pick up. I drilled out the rudder and elongated the pick-up hole to the leading edge of the blade. I also drilled out the nipples on the esc and motor.

Could it be just a bad motor? everything else barely breaks 100*
