Well, a fellow boater ran right THROUGH my cowl. Left it in 2pcs!

That gave me the inspiration to re create it....but better! Just made a new positive with the correct curvature of the hull. Fits very well now. The back of the cowl is shaped specifically for the retrieval system. A simple U bracket mount and some wiring and I'll be doing the 'backfloat' again in no time. I wonder what my neighbors think when I am testing these things?? I rarely drive it right side up anymore.

I'm also working on a mold to adapt the cowl onto the Vegas!

Again, I am sorry for "jumping" your boat.

Man was that sweet. sv27 running all ul-1 electronics and a grim 42x55 prop. FAST.

Just so you all know I gave shooter the cowl off of my wrecked pickle "amp-o-holic" to make him whole again, but he decided to make his own.

On a side note, got the new pickle from Phil, new build coming soon.
The "amp-o-holic" name will stay on the wrecked boat.....what to name the new one?

Shooter suggested "seaing problems" because I ran "amp-o-holic" into the boat hoist, I can't see so good....

Yes, it has to be "SEAing pRoBlems". We can put a pair of cracked glasses on it.

        When are you coming over?

When are you coming over, I have started assembling the new pickle.
Got the motor mount pad epoxied in and all the hardware mounted.
Have to stop by the lhs on my way home today to get a stuffing tube.
By tomorrow it should be ready for graphics...

Hey Pete, I just love what you've done here, but I read the boat's operation manual and it said NOT to flip it Then again, try turning LEFT at WOT and you can test it out ; waiting for the vid; hope it's watertight

Every time this thread pops up, I think of how cool this idea is and how you perfectly you implemented it.

Thanks for the praises guys! We ran both of the Vegas boats this weekend. One of them didn't even need to use the system! even with the infamous FAST FREDDY driving! I tell ya......the Vegas is a pretty stable running boat. It's a brick, but if you power her up accordingly (1515 1Y, Seaking 180, 35+C batts) she really flys!
                      Sorry PC, no vids yet.

Well, looks like we will finally be running again next weekend. Hopefully I can take some more vids. We are considering building some larger boats this year. So far, the Whip and the Phil Thomas come to mind. Any other recommendations??? Thanks guys.

Could you not build a breakaway cover for the prop, something easy to replace? that way it would be hidden, but in a blowover, the prop would be exposed,

Absolutely. It could hide perfectly in the back of the cowl (the turbine exhaust). It may require a slot though or it might cavitate.

When is this for sale and where do I send my money? Chuckle. Really great idea and above all well executed.
