I notice you are using the large Octura .187 collet. I have yet to see one of these 5mm collets that are perfectly true with no wobble. I like the smaller 1/8" Octura.
Is that a Hightech Mighty Mini servo (hs-225mg)? The lighterweight mini servos are underated. I will be using one in my Whiplash

What do you mean wobble? Unbalanced? Runout? All of mine work fine. Good looking buil Mike. Why the standoff on the transom?

Since I am using a .187 flex cable the large Octura is nearly my only option. I could try a set screw style, but I am not a big fan. It sounds like getting a gorilla to tighten this collet up is the trick. I will make sure it really tight next time I run the boat. That won't be for a while though...
Sounds like your talking about the runout on the collet. So far mine seems to be fine. I have seen many that were alot worse.
I am using a Futaba S3016 Mini Metal gear for Steering. This is an excellent servo.
this is a trick that I learned from another long time nitro boater. I used brass threaded inserts into the block to allow mounting for the hardware. Now the only 2 holes in the transom for water cooling and the rudder linkage.
Instead of 8 holes in the transom; I have 2. Less chance of water leaking in.

If you contact Steve at OSE he has some nice small ETTI couplers I use on my .187 cables. I use a UL-1 motor and they work great, much smaller than the octura and run true. If you are using a true P motor they may be too small . and that is why Steve was not listing them on his site but for a Spec motor they are great .He did have them in stock when I got one for a new build (2nd boat) last month.
