That is one of the reasons I designed my PVC rescue boat with a lift, controlled by my radio's third channel. It allows nose up rescues! The lift lowers a platform as much as 17 inches below the waterline, so I can get under a stalled/flipped/flooded boat and lift it to dry air and drive it back to shore.
I have lifted a 10lb can of nuts and bolts with the 1/4 scale continuous rotation servo that I use as a winch, so I feel confident that I could lift pretty much any partially submerged FE boat enough to bring it back to shore.

        That's hilarious!

Yeah, time to get a rescue vessel.

            HA! EEEEEETS ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVEAHHH!

OK, so next is to step the runners by overlapping the pool noodles and get rid of the curve at the runner transom. Then add the center net to catch the vessels. Not quite sure what kind of net, maybe fishing string, but just enough to snag and push the distressed craft.

Not yet. Have to hook up the reversing ESC's.

What I have done was put some "T" fittings on the forward cross bar and put a piece of pvc that hangs down in the water to use as push bars on mines. You may want to put a boat and make sure it pushes it with load.

I simply love all these variations on my contraption. It's giving me some ideas on the Contraption Mk2. Already in phase one is a collapsable frame for easy transport.

FC that's coool... ping pong ball net works good for net. I used cargo net on one of mine. I've built 3 or 4 of these things trying to find what works the best. Ski's on the front makes it ride up on top of the boat your trying to retrieve, found that out trial & error. I had to put small chunks or re-bar in the front PVC to keep the nose down, that helped alot. I'd be interested in seeing a twin fan hydro or rigger, it would haul the mail.

Hmmm. I'm thinking a fishing line with weights and a continuous loop servo to wind them up and lift the vessel out of the water.

Basically get close, drop lines then once over the vessel, pull the lines taught and raise the vessel up almost out of the water.

Can someone point me to a continuous loop servo or how to make one?

The other approach is a series of bobbers and weights and do circles and then pull the line in taught.

FC look for a retract servo. You can also modify any regular servo. You just need to cut the stop out of the case. If you open up the case where the main output is it's usually keyed. Cut the stub off and viola. I've done it before for making winches on crawler rigs and it works fine.

That sounds perfect. Then I'll just route some fishing line and tie in some weights.

In theory, it will sink the line, then lift the vessel.

Might be too many maneuvers to do from afar though.

Yes that's the hardest thing about these vehicles. Especially when theyre way out and you have current and winds.......
