I could add more weight in front, but she is already pretty nose heavy.....it nose dives hard if I let off the throttle too quickly (especially at 60mph!!!)

True that - mine will occasionally nose-trip if I let off at full chat. Work on strut angle & put on the cowl - it may hold down the hull at speed - just a thought.

Aye Aye cap'n. I'll try it with some strut angle and then add the cowl....

I'm sure when I raise the main sail she'll slow down and stay planted.

Adding the cowl will increase downdraft.

Thanks tth. That's what I'm looking for. Down force WHILE at speed only. Right now, the turbine is open (flow through). I'll have to experiment with the effects of it plugged or open.

Brushless - No. I think it is further forward. I can provide measurements if you want. You can always adjust your CG with battery placement if need be. Just make sure your strut tube is as straight as possible and has very large radius bends.

Well, I finally got tired of re-tightening the rudder throw arm after every run. Plus, I broke two of them. Seems to be a problem with the Vegas since practically every hobby shop in the country is out of the part. Anyways, had to cobble up this little gadget. It works well, just has a tad less throw than the original (more of a moment arm). Definitely more robust though.

looks strong ! I use the Speedmaster aluminum arm, no probs but it looks like you've got it handled.

It is STRONG, no doubt. I usually pride myself with "pretty", but lately things have been slipping. This thing is a real abomination.

Are you using the entire speedmaster rudder? Or just the arm? I'd like a different rudder, but I'd prefer to keep the holes in my hull the same. The hole spacing is 12mm for the Vegas rudder mount. I was considering robbing the UL-1 rudder (also 12mm mount spacing), but the water inlet is soooo small.

I'm just using the Speedmaster arm. AQ rudder works well on mine.

Very nice sir. Great solution to the problem. The Vegas rudder is actually pretty decent regarding pivot pin diameter (4mm I think??). Mine has relatively low slop. It's just that darned arm that is notorious for slipping. Most of the nicer rudder arms I've seen are attached to the rudder somehow instead of the pin for better engagement.

Another problem is the limited distance to the transom. I noticed you solved your problem by bending a pc of rod straight up. That's exactly how I did it in the original (see initial pictures). My rod actually bent after a blowover once....better that than stripping servo gears though. I might go back to your method with the speedmaster arm as you have it. Appreciate the reply. Thanks.

On a different note, I'm really tempted to transfer this stuff into the new Insane hull. Those videos are driving me nuts! I still prefer the look of the Vegas though.

Can anyone think of anything else to add to the pirate theme??? Just seems plain.
Maby an eye patch that looks as if its just been blown off.

How about some small black spider webs branching off here and there...but i would say thin lined not fat thick lines it would be to much..
