Just about complete... Need to finish some final graphics and she'll be done! Not my prettiest boat, but it will do. Afterall, it's a pirate ship!! Arggghhhh!!

I modified the hull to accept a rectangular pc of plexiglass. This allows a nice flat seal with hatch tape all around. The photos show it taped. There is a small hump in the plexiglass for clearance above the motor (thanks to HydroJerry for the tips on heating plexiglass!) The cowl was modified to sit flat against the hatch lid. It survived 1ft submerged for 1 minute without a drop of water inside.
Going to run it this weekend! Can't wait...

!!!!!!! This thing really moves.... my legs are still shaking!! I ran it without the cowl (just the hatch taped down as shown above) and an X642 prop. She jets across the water like a dart. Just under 60mph (58.3mph on the GPS). The nose is getting a little flighty (had 2 blow-overs). Not sure if I should add weight to the front or adjust the strut. The CG is well behind the sponson tips. I think that 65mph+ should be no prob (possibly even with the X642!!). Need to do some tweaking this week.... some weight shifting, turn fin adjustments, and other tweaks....and VERY calm water!! Very happy with the first run.
Very impressed with the vegas turn fin mount. This thing is tough!
