Finished with top deck. 1/32" plywood strips were glued to top deck using thin superglue. I will glue top deck down to hull using Z Poxy finishing resin epoxy.

The facial area looks a lot like the corvette logo.

Wow! I got one right! If I ever get a whip, I'd like to do the same thing to mine too.

Waiting for epoxy to cure on front edge. I used the ZPoxy finishing resin for attaching most everything. Takes a long time to cure, but seems to bond better than Devcon 2 ton epoxy.

Next step is going to take some thought. I will blend in nose piece with bottom of hull using balsa wood. Bare hull with hatch now weighs 2.9 lbs.

Getting close. Ramp with small 1/16"step was added before battery tray. This should help hull get up on plane quickly.

Thanks. I will try to copy the original canopy locater from UL-1 then attach to Whiplash. I will also have to put a locater underneth.

I taped hatch for first time using Scotch masking tape.

You can see in these pictures why the Whiplash is a little more stable than the UL-1. Whiplash has Lower center of gravity and wider sponson inside width (Whiplash inside sponson spread 11 3/8" vs. UL's 7 3/4"). Whiplash will tolerate adding more AOA to sponsons for even faster speeds.

Both hulls weigh about the same Ready To Race.

Those are some great comparison shots between the UL-1 and Whip. Never realized how much wider the Whip was. Thanks for posting.

I also like how the official Detox "Skull" has tagged along with the old UL-1 cowl. Nice.

                              Pro build. Great dragonflies.

Thanks Shooter. I've allways wanted to see comparison shots between the UL-1 vs. Whip so now was the perfect time to show everyone. I hope Grimracer comes out with a second generation UL-1 that favors the Whiplash more.

I have been following your Miss Vegas build. That is one cool looking Black and White paint job on her.
