Are you going to continue this thread on thro to the launch? Your thread is definately an education to me. my kit is supposed to be shipped this monday. I am anxious. Again your boat is very impressive.

Here's more pictures. The White Urethane is easy to repair. I have a few spots (dust in paint and overspray) that need it. I will sand bad spots out using 1500 grit paper then polish.

Today I ran my Whiplash for the first time. Water conditions were slightly wind choppy (4 inches), but Whiplash handled the rough conditions much better than my UL-1 would have. Using the Octura M445 speeds were slighty above 50 mph. Very Impressive using just the UL-1 motor /esc combo.

I installed slightly too much lead in the sponson tips. Hull would not get on plane without throwing hull out onto water. So I moved my lipos more reward toward motor and now hull will jump on plane from a standing still start. Hull weighs 5 lbs 13 ozs using the LSH setup.

Hatch is a breeze to tape.

Rudder works verywell installed on the right side of stern as Speedmaster intended it to be.

The UL-1 boat stand works with the Whiplash also.

Virginia Craftsman turnfin works well as far as I can tell.

Here's a video. Too many weeds, I was trying to find a spot on lake bank to launch from. I will post a better zoomed version later.

Thanks. My wife always did say that I sounded like a Georgia Hick when I talked...now I know.

Next I will try a couple more props (H1518-10-75 (3), H10) to get the fastest speeds, then I will take a better video of my Whiplash running around pond.

Just purchased one of the new Nano Tech lipos. The pack measures 155mm long x 48mm wide x 35mm tall.
