I have built both the Insanity and the JAE FE (don't know much about the Raptor...looks nice though)..............I would HIGHLY reccomend the JAE FE...
Brian Buaas makes and sells the Raptor check out http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=11423
I run a JAE I built from plans and am beating everyone except Brian in my District. If you want a built fiberglass boat the Raptor is sure nice. If you don't mind building the JAE is simple to build, fun, and fast. It is easy to do 60 MPH with the UL-1 motor with either boat.
BTW thats a photo Jerry Dunlap took of my JAE that is my Avatar.

You have to drop the mount in BEFORE you add the top skins...a little bit of a pain but it is a great mount...
If you decide to go with the three piece mount (from Zippkits) let me know... I have one of those brand new that I never used (with all of the screws). You can add that mount in after the top skins are in place. The three piece mount is just a little heavier, but should not matter much at all. Also much easier to work with when replacing a cooked motor...don't ask me how I know...LOL!
The jae is a great kit. Just make sure you get eveything square. Every little bit counts. Or you'll end up re doing things. Ask me how I know! It is a real learning experience though. This was my first wood/rigger build.
Joes service is awesome also. Four days from order to my doorstep to Hawaii. I opted to get all the hardware from zipkits also for a one stop shop to save on shipping.

I haven't run mine yet as it's not quite finished but you would be better off with a 1415. But with room for only 1p I don't know how that would work out.
