Better is to drive fast to make a light setup
Two Lehners oder tenshocks with 4s lipo for both motors
then i think the cat can reach over 80 mph.Maybe faster

Yes, 10s, 8s, too much and too heavy.

OK, I've asked Jeff to make a 4mm 078 wire drive and an 8mm->.078 coupler. This should be way cool.

What ESC should I use with the 1521 1.5d on 6s? The Turnigy 180a, Castle Hydra 120a or the Turnigy Monster 200a? I'm planning on using four 3s 30c 5000mah packs. (6s2p)

I already have a Turnigy 180a, but have another use for it. I'd have to order the Hydra or the Monster.

The next question is drives. The 1521 is an 8mm shaft. The current drive is 4mm. Which might not be strong enough for the power of the 1521.

I'm beginning to think that a wire drive might work better. (Jeff, this is your queue)
        Any suggestions?
It comes in a 5mm shaft which is all you need.................

Yeah, but is good to know they come in 5mm shaft too! Never know, if I like it that much, I might get another one!

              EDIT: it's a 1527 1.5d, not 1521 and Castle Recommends the Hydra 180 HV or 240.

Any advice on the ESC? I'm a little concerned about the Turnigy 180a being adequate for this... Don't want to cook the ESC.

Whoa! A 1527 is gonna make that baby sing!!!!!!!!!!!! Knowing that, you probably can run a bit larger than a 45.............they like prop.

I think you will still be fine with the 180a..............unless you throw that big 52mm airplane propeller on it

Yeah, sorry for the confusion, I just had 21 on the brain.

Cool, if the 180a will work, then I'm good to go! I just found an 8mm - 4mm coupler and am ordering the 8mm - 078 coupler & wire drive.

                  This should be a ripper!

Ha! Those little trailers are neat. I could just see driving that to the boat dock (.5 miles away) and using the dock!

The seaking will work, depending on what prop and voltage you're going to run. What is your idea?If you run 5s and a 50mm prop or under, you may be safe. I have pushed the hell out of my seaking 180s. When I ran my 1527 1.5d it was with a CC240 lv on 5s2p. I ran up to a x455 and Things were starting to get a little warm. That motor is a freaking beast!

                          Hmm. The plan was to use 4 x 3s1p 30c 5kmah packs in series/parallel for 6s2p 60c 10kmah.

I'm planning to start with a small prop, probably a 40/2 and work my way up from there. I have a feeling that the 1527 will make this guy a little top heavy, so will see how it handles. By breaking up the 6s packs, I'm hoping to even out the weight distribution and help lower the COG by installing them in the sponson bellies.

I haven't seen the motor/sizing physically (38.8 x 101.6mm) to know what motor mount I'll end up using, but will try to get the motor as low and straight as possible. I have a 40mm mount that should work, but will see soon. This is already a long skinny hull, so who knows what the result will be. One thing's for sure, it's going to be FAST.

Ah, take no chances... Just ordered a Hydra 240 to run this bad boy.

OK, my wallet hurts. Think I have all the parts I need on the way... Time to take a break.

Yep. 5 of them. The 57" Gas Fighter Cat, the 34" Single Turnigy-Castle Apparition, the 40" Single Hydra-Castle Genesis and the 41" Twin Turnigy-Castle Sprint Cat. Oh yeah, almost forgot, and the EPOS-king of sh*ts.
