Someone just posted on another thread that a 580 9L is equall to a NEU 1527 / 1.5d
so maybe I could save some cash and use a 580 9L or a 10L on 6s for this hull?
any thoughts?

I have not yet bought the hull, I'm deciding between this theme and an Amsoil theme?
I also want to build my Twin brushless cat first. I have most of what I need for that one now..
but I really want to do this one now!
just need more cash

The Castle 1717 weighs in between the Neu 1521 and the 1527, but with its thicker can, cooling fins and solid end plates all weighing more without increrasing copper weight or magnet strength, I would expect it to be much closer to the 1521's output than that of a 1527.

We will see, I just ordered one to go in my 36" Hydro. According to one very well known FE racer I will be very happy with this motor.

That silver amsoil would look SWEET on that mono. I think anyway... Plus I like amsoil from my motocross bikes and atvs ect... I'm sure it will be cool either way. Can't wait to see it.

My thoughts are the same as yours
being I sell Amsoil my buddy keeps getting on me of why I have not build this theme yet..
Also I think the silver and white will really POP out on the water

He just said it is a torque monster and I will like it.

Sailr, Steven said there is a prototype floating around. He didn't say who has it but I am sure he will have one available soon. I just bought two 1717's, can't wait to try them.
