Castle motor in a 40" mono?

    Hello boat builders..
Would a Castle 1520 power this 40" mono on 4s?
    http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...as-1520-series
or could I get by with a 1518, or should I just get the 1717 on 4s or maybe try 5s?

I would love all input.. I would like to run with gas, I don't need to crush them but just to keep up, and have fun.
    thanks

    I'd go the 1717 route.

Anyone have an idea what a 1717 would be in a NEU?

Well, it would be equivilant of a 1717 IF they made one. It will prob have the power of a 1527 at least, I'm guessing. 580 would not be better.

I am hoping the 1717 will have more grunt than the 1527 and less amp draw than the 2215. I will be trying the 1717 in my 36" hydro this season. I had a 1527 in it last season and it flew.

Awesome, did you run 4s in your hydro?
so it sounds like the 1717 could make this mono fly!
or at least, make the gas guy jealous

I think he was saying if NEU made a 1717.

No I ran the 1500KV 1527 1.5D motor on 6s just like I will run the 1717 motor.

                      Yeah, I meant a Neu, not Neu/Castle.

                        that's what I was asking...
when will you get that motor to try it out?

                          ok gotcha!
I will stay with the Neu/Castle just for price reasons
I need to find out if this guy can do this hull in a Caterpillar theme..
