MHZ Racemaster

Building the Racemaster boat (98.6 x 21.6 cm, 38.8" x 8.5") from MHZ but because the boat's dimensions are much different from other mono hulls there are many options for the rudder-motor-batteries location. I have the follwoing questions and if anybody knows it will be great!!

a) Rudder, where is it better, in the centerline behind the prop or on the right as in most monos? I have space to put it in the center

b) Batteries, better to be on the centreline of the boat or on the sides (port-stbd)?

c) Motor, to achieve the c.g. of 27-30%, I can either put the motor far forward and the batteries behind (on centreline or sides), or to put the motor aft and the batteries on the sides. quite confused here...

I must mention that the boat's quality is excellent

Does this hull have a step?

If so, put the motor right at the step and the batteries as low as possible in the hull. This skinny thing probably needs as low of a CG as possible, so keep everything close to the water.

MHZ recommended to put the batteries on the sides and rudder in the middle

Motor right in front of the batts, batts on either side of the shaft. Allow room to move the batts forward and backward to adjust the CG. The batteries weigh far more than your Rx and servo, so put the betteries down low and stuff your Rx up on one side of the hull and your servo on the other. You can put your ESC right smack in the middle of the hull elevated above the batts and motor, or even above the motor to make it easy to remove the batteries. Another option, if you have the room, is to put the ESC on either side of the motor on the floor of the hull.

Are you going to be racing?
If so, definitely keep the rudder on the right side of the hull for oval racing. Even with the rudder in this position, the boat will turn both ways just as well.

First vids from the MHZ Racemaster/Rapid (no its not me , i do not know the maker)

They used a Low rev Turnigy outrunner on 12s lipo and rudder behind the prop what is the distance from the transom and rear prop (in cm please)

If i would built one myself i would do it the same like i/they/we (europeans ) would built the lizard xtreme rudder behind the prop.

I think I will follow the MHZ's and your advise , which is also more convenient for me

In these videos I think that the batteries are also on the sides. Because this is a long and narrow hull maybe it helps for smoother-less rolling, who knows...

Regarding the distance of propeller behind the transom I am also a bit confused here, once MHZ advised abt 10 cm and then 5.5 cm which I think is too short for 98 cm boat. What do you think Michiel? I think I will start with abt 9 cm and If no good I will shorten. I have the trimax eco and can adjust length

Very nice boat mate.

What is it made of. Looks like some sort of carbon Kevlar lay up.

And i really like the drive line setup . Lots of adjustment.

It is carbon kevlar (don't know details, I bought it like this), quality is very very good...Looks and feels strong but the surprise is the weight, 1.3 kgr.
The drive line is the trimax eco from MHZ (part 1077) I thought to give it a try. Lots of adjustments, in-out, port-stbd, high-low don't know though how it will perform

Hi iam new on this site, an would like to no more about the racemaster. I would like to get one an was hoping some one can advice more on setups, an if it will be ok to run the boat with my graupner 700bb, an run 3700nicds?

Almost finished, decals will be applied soon. Initially I placed the rudder in the centre but I was not very happy with the boat's handling, now moved to the side and tested once and seems better
