Hey Oshkosh, that thing is looking sweet, I plan to build the same boat pretty much. Im doing an OvalMaster 29" with a 540 13XL on 6s1p, Almost identical to yours, im getting the carbon fiber 540XL mount too, wish I would started a month sooner and beat you to it

But I really want to see how this thing works. Id like to see tons of pics and def some video if you could when its all done please . Apparently the cooling can dosn't fit so well with that mount??? Maybe ill just use the regular mount with a brace uderneath, let me know how it works out for you.

Im also worried about mine only being a 29", maybe ill have to run 3700maH to save some weight but thats only about 100A discharge.

Mainly I want to see the best setup to cancel out any prop walk, cavitation, bouncing, and torque roll. Any specifics on the motor mounting???? (lower CG of motor, motor angle, should the motor be closer to the back or more in the front)???

Thanks Man! I wouldn't worry about yours being 5" shorter unless you run in a lot of ruff water. Lot of factors there I guess... I heard lots of opinions on motor placement. I decided to have mine fairly far forward to keep a real gradual stuff bend. I think it looks good so far. I may have a little extra drag from the longer tube, but that should be very minimal and I think will lead to a smoother running driveline. This is my first build though, so others may have better, more experiance based opinions for you.
Tonight I got the stuff tube bent and cut. Now I have to make a tube support and epoxy that all in. then mount ruddder, trim tabs (4), and turn fins next.

I used parma faskolor paint and an airbrush. The hull was blue gelcoat, so I put down white, then faspearl key lime. I tried the 2 part urethane through my gun with the flake mixed in, but it didn't spray very well, then I smudged it.... So I brought it in to Wesners and they fixed my mess up and made it look great. After all my paint research, I'm sold on the 2 part nason 496 urethane clear, so I'd suggest that for your final coats.

A couple more progress pics. Anything to keep in mind as far as trim tab (4 of them) mounting location/spacing? Thats next, or rudder...? Stinger is on anyway. Found out the hard way that you should install the prop before measuring and cutting flex shaft...yet another order placed from OSE....

Still not sure exactly where this huge ESC is going but....

Hardware installed, but I somehow miss judged the distance between the closest the rudder can get to the prop, and...the rudder comes within 1mm.... So.....redrill more to the right? Or go longer so the rudder is behind the prop...?

What do you guys think? Rudder is centered with center of prop. Go another inch longer on the rudder? Another $55 out the window... But if that's the best solution.. Or ovalize the holes a LOT to move the rudder 1/4 ish to the right?

Maybe I should go shorter on the rudder? Get one whos trailing edge lines up with the drive dog on the prop? I kinda like that idea better..? Or no? IDK.... this rudder in mono 2.125" set back?-> http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...=ros-21-rudder
or this one in 5 set back"? -->http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...d=ros-spdr-010

awesome build man.....the color is gorgeous....I would go with some ghost flames if it was my choice

as far as your rudder...it looks to be lined up perfect with the leading edge of the rudder even with the drive dog but its a little close to the prop on a left hand turn...hope you dont need a bigger prop

great job on the install of parts and great choice of components...12xl will rock on 6s

Thanks! Ya I was bummed when i saw how close the rudder was to the prop. I mounted it late at night and obviously wasn't thinking. I just ordered (5 mins ago) a speedmaster 21 rudder with 2.125 offset, so that will take care of the prop clearance issue. I spoke with aeromarine, and that was what they suggested, vs. going longer. Hope the holes line up (not likely...). I'll just fill the holes with epoxy and make an inner backing plate out of aluminum for extra strength. Hope it works out well...

How long is that strut? The spacing doesnt look too bad if not for the prop and rudder being right next to each other. The leading edge of my rudder is about even with the trailing edge of the prop blade. I should of mentioned that to begin with and I feel like schmuck for not thinking of it.

Oh, no worries at all, wasn't your fault. I just mounted it w/o the flex and prop in the strut, and forgot to account for that. You didn't know all the details, so all my bad. I appreciate the input for sure, we just have different struts....so oops. the stinger is 82.5mm in length. Yours is probably shorter eh? I was just in too much of a hurry to get the back end done.
After talking to aeromarine, I think the shorter (from transom) speedmaster 21 rudder will work better. They are gonna send me some build pics of a recent titan 33 they did. I'll post those as soon as I get them. Now I just hope I don't mess anything else up, like the ESC ect.... If not, we'll be on the water soon
