Id probably start with a 442. Run it through all set up and see what temps etc are.

I'm running a 10XL on 4s with a X648 prop. The guys I run with all figure my speeds are in the mid 40s. Everything runs real nice and cool, everything under100 degrees. Since I put this setup in it I have yet to break anything (well that should jinx me). I'm very happy with this setup but may try 5s or 6s when I get the nerve.

          What prop should I try on 5s and 6s? I have a x442 from when I ran this boat on a 8xl.

Ok, I have a bunch of different props on order ranging from 40mm on up to 47mm. I should be set to dial it in for each battery set up. (why do I always do 2 builds at the same time??? it cost so much $$$$$!)

What hull are you running? the PIP? And what esc?

Its a lot of trial and error my friend. But Id say on your set up, your probably going to max out size wise on that hull w/ the 442. Im only saying this from experience w/ a very similar hull I have that had about the exact set up. My 32" cat, when I had the Proboat motor in it, I found on both 4 and 5S using a detungued 442 I had the best results. You may need to go down to a 40mm on 6S. You could be getting into some high temps.

Yeah I'm also running the PIP Bittburger. The ESC is a Castle Hydra 120 but I also have a Seaking 120 I can throw in there. I know the Castle on 6s might not be that great an idea. The x648 prop I have on there just clears the inline strut and rudder and I don't notice any torque related problems. Sorry i don't mean to hijack Spot Me 2's thread, hopefully some of this info can help him out too. Alot of my setup was trial and error as not too many guys have experience with this hull.

Be cautious on that 6S w/ the 120A esc... your gunna pull close to 200A on that 648. Then your gunna be getting the smell outta your boat from the fire. Even w/ a 442 your be right about 120A. You may want to look at a larger ESC soon. Id stay off 6S if it were mine. And regardless of what you use, the 648 may be pushin it size wise all together. 4S you may stay under you max amp ratings, but I dont think your gunna be happy w/ it at all. You may max at at a 42 or possibly 45mm.

The 10xl will be the best bet for 4 and 6s. Run at least a 150 amp esc. A turnigy/seaking 180 is the best bang for your buck. The Hi-model should also be fine. As tiqueman said prop down on 6s. She should fly!!

However, I think you will find although it meets the capacities of your current esc.. your going to find the 10XL on 4S to be BORING. My similar cat on a 9Xl barely breaks 40 on 4S. a 10XL Id imagine will be mid 30s. 5S should be good.. and as stated, 6S is going to be

This is kind of a stupid question, but if I try 5s and put 2s in one sponson and 3s in the other does it matter which battery goes on which sponson? Or should I make up the difference with some weight.
Hey Spot Me 2 this is your thread whats going on with your boat?

Ive run mine both ways and really saw no difference, but I usually put 3S on the right side.

Mark, I am doing the parts waiting game. I am waiting for a motor mount, props, and...... They should be here today or Monday. I will only be able to do 4s testing as I am waiting for lipos to come from china. I ordered them 3 days ago and it still says "Processing" So much for their shipped within 48hrs statement. I am hoping to have the boat in the water on 4s soon. I don't think it will be real exciting.

What motor and prop did you decide to start with? A couple of times when I've ordered from overseas it said "processing" and it was at my door. Everytime I go to this thread I scroll down past the pictures of your boat and regret not buying it, oh well. She is beautiful and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I am starting with a BJ motor because I have it sitting here. I will start with an s215 and move up from there on 4s. Just need to make sure everything stays cool.
