    Rumdog's Sprintcat rebuild

Decided to switch things up a bit. Well, so far this hull was a nitro, then setup for FE. I ran a Neu 1527 1.5d on 5s2p and hydra 240. That Setup ran great, good speed (mid sixties) and turned like it was on rails at full speed. Well, I was going to buy a new cat hull and do a new twin build, but since I like this hull so much I decided to strip it down. Yanked the rails out, sanded it down. Setup is now twin castle/neu 1515 1y's, 2x Seaking 180's and 4 and 5s Turnigy 5000's. I have both CR 442's and 447's. Just finished up mounting all the gear. Going to test run tomorrow, then strip it down for paint once she's handling nice.

This will be my first twin cat. I like the cool factor of twins. I'm not really sure on how much speed to expect from this. If it gets back into mid sixties, I'll be happy. That 1527 was a BEAST! I just hope it still handles well as a twin. I may have to make an extended rudder bracket. We'll see after tomorrow I guess.

Looks good Rumdog. It's such a great hull with a single, it will be interesting to see how it does with twins. Bring the video camera!

I may bring the Camera. I usually don't on the maiden run though.

I understand, I usually don't either. I'd love to see a video once you get it dialed in.
I hope to do the motor swap on mine tomorrow and get a test run in on sunday.

Just got back from the pond. Setup was 5s 25c turnigy 5000's, seaking 180's 1515 1y Neu/Castles and CR 442's. Holy SH$*!!!! I didn't gps for some reason, but wow! I was running mid sixties before, this setup is going to be at least 10 mph faster! The prob now is she wants to blow over. Time for a couple hull mods. Turning was still excellent at speed. Everything came in exceptionally cool too. Gonna add trim tabs to the rear of the tunnel to act as a tunnel extension. That should help keep her planted a bit. I can't even imagine how fast it would be with the 447's. I Will get some vid up next week. Gonna shoot some paint soon.

Nice! I bet you could run those 1515's all day long on the 442's and be as cool as a cucumber! My 1515 pushes a m545 in a single motor cat with ease. Nice job!!

It should be quite a monster on 8S, considering how that hull runs on 6S. Put a 3/4" air dam 3" back from the front edge of the tunnel and move the CG forward an inch.

Thanks for the tips Fluid. Always appreciated. I'll give that a shot for sure. I added a tiny bit of neg angle to the struts. It should help a little. I'm going to try one thing at a time to see what differences eac mod makes.

Cool color - I leave my boats in gelcoat unless I have to paint. I envy the good painters I see here and elsewhere!

IME the tunnel tabs don't have much effect below 70 mph - but you're getting close....
