i hear guys adding weight to lite setups, personally i would rather build a bit of weight into it for strength than adding dead weight later on, but i dont race so not such a concern to me as i can always add more power (no restrictions)

i dont believe the vs-1 is offset. i will measure mine tonight. as for the motor- almost everyone at the winter warmups was running ul-1 packages, and i know I did with first place and second place and i think third place guy was running one too. just watch the vid propperchopper posted of the tunnel race and it will give you an idea of the speeds of the ul-1 powered vs-1'sComment

I weighed my Geraghty/Tommy Lee boat RTR last night... Right around 6lbs with batteries, which is about 1/2lb heavier than I expected.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

yes darin, i ended up coming in at 6lbs 3oz on my newer xtr-120. it has a 1515 1y, 5000mah & cc240 plus reciever pack. i think the extra weight is a good thing because it is a power house. i have one of the older ones from tommy that is real similar to yours. in nitro trim rtr it is 4lbs 8ozsee my fleet: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=294

That's kind of what I figured... One of the reasons why I'm not convinced that directly converting from Nitro is going to yield the best performance... I think that a dedicated FE boat needs some adjustements to the geometry and ride surfaces to account for the additional mass...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

the fe leecraft seems to handle well but turned out wayyyyyy to fast for practical usage. you are letting off the throtle or running 1/2 throtle alot. the problem for me lays in the fact that my pond is to small. i have to let off not because it is loose, the turns come fast. i have run it about 5 packs and only flipped once. it wasnt a blow over like tunnels do, went in nose first when i shut down into rough water. i am using a 30% starting point for cog and it seems to handle as good as or better than the same boat in nitro trim at similar speeds. of course once i wick it up it becomes looser running and a little more of a handfull. i run nitro tunnels alot, i am almost imbarsed to put a nitro in the water after running this thing.
on saturday i brought only FE tunnel and jae rigger and by far had the 2 fastest boats there. i get everyones attention but for some reason i cant spark any interest in others building fe's. i know this one is expensive so i didnt expect them to jump on the bandwaggon but thought for sure the spec rigger would have done it, nope! i am planning a spec vs-1/ul-1 tunnel thinking maybee the lower cost will do it. the only reason i run nitro's is because that is what everyone else here has. my only fe competition is a fastec, ul-1 and a bunch of mini's which i grew out of...see my fleet: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...hp?albumid=294
