Sorry if I have hi-jacked your thread.... Would you prefer I started a new thread????
I did find one thing and it probably won't make any differance but... I was looking through the spec's of the ESC's and motors... They can take, or so it says upto 4s... Do you think this is pushing it? or should I stick to the 3s packs ???
Also I have ordered the Venom prop's, could take some time to get to the UK though......

Well, Id say dont push it, but Im going to be running my ESCs at their max S count. The motor would be in the low to mid 30,000 rpm range. What Amp escs? If your Amp draw isnt too much, try it and see what happens. Check temps often though.

BUT, Id stick w/ 3S until you get it going right. Get yourself a base to start from, then start experementing. Least thats how I would go about it.

Do you have standard rotation props that match, that would be around the diameter of the EKOS props? If so, put them on and let it run just to see if it goes. It may not handle the best or try and walk a little, but it will give you an answer.

I was just introduced to that e-powerboats site last week and saw that. VERY nice boats on there.

Figured Id start doing all my soldering. I got an esc and a motor done and made a set of parallel connectors... then ran out of solder At least I got a little more than half finished....

So tomorrow I will hit the hrdwr store and get solder and some large diameter heat shrink to finish it up

And pokin around at things and starting to put some equipment in the hull.... I REALLY hope that my 6S (2-3S in series 5000mah) config works becasue I was wrong about the overhead room I had... Its about 40 mm, maaaaaybe 41mm is all the taller the batt can be. Looking at Turnigy batts, the 6S 4000 30C is 41 mm. I checked one of my batts compared to Turnigys measuring and in reality its about 2mm bigger than what the website says... so I have a feeling that the 6S 4000mah 30C is a bit larger than what they say so they will NOT fit. It looks like a pair of 6S 3000mah 35C will fit... So Id have 6000mah, out of 6S2P... with a thousand more mah and the extra 6 cells ... is that a big enough difference to justify the 6S batts?

Like I said, financially I have to try it on the 3S in series b/c Im tapped for expenditures at the moment.. Ive still got a few small things to get and thats it. So I really hope Mudl is correct and the 3S in series is enough to handle the draws.... otherwise, Im gunna have a twin HOTR that looks really nice on the shelf.....

I don't have two props that mach but my fater might, however he passed away the week before last and we have the funeral tomorrow so digging through his stuff might not be so good...
I am still waiting for the prop's but untill then I am moving things about to get better control of the COG... man this thing is tight!!!!....

Yeah, I know all about being "tight". Twin 540XLs, 120A ESCs, .... you run outta room real quick. Just like a real boat.. no matter how big it is, you always wish it was just a little bit bigger.

AHHHHHHH Im becoming impatient!

Ive been tracking my stingers from HOTR (ebay). They have been sitting in NJ since 3am Sat morning. USPS site has them being "processed at our sorting faciliy" up there THREE TIMES NOW!!!!!! and after each time it says "out for delivery to shipping destination." Then a few days will go by, it updates and say "processed thu our sort facility at Kearny, NJ." HOW MANY FRICKEN TIMES DO THEY HAVE TO PROCESS IT???? Just send the things already! I coulda driven up there and picked them up and been home by now! Air mail SUX!

All those motors look similar, KEDA, VORTEX, FSD, FEIGAO, etc ...

umm, I dunno, this is a new adventure for me. Some of the guys at the local club run them like this and they dont seem to have issues. But I will let you know!
