Anybody ever attempted to mount a heading hold gyro to the rudder for high speed runs? I have one from a crashed helicopter of my buddies, but i don't know anything about them..

I know this guy grael over on RCU in the jet drive thread has used them in jet boats that he designed & built himself. He said it did make a difference. But he wasn't trying to run strait just trying to keep going in one direction or another instead of having the waves just push you around. The steering on a jet boat is more responsive though and is always sharper. The other thing is without the jet drive running you have no steering. Anyway, I thought I would try it too especially when running on the creek.Comment

My question is why would you need one? Just do negative expo on your Tx.

Have you experimented with a heading gyro yet? I have one just sitting around and might do some testing but wanted to see if you are pursuing this idea?Comment
