Updates:
Rails, battery tray and faux bulkhead, foam fill.
Made me some rails out of 1/8" 5 ply with a battery tray that allows some adjustment. Went with 4" rails so I could also throw some batteries along the outside. the faux bulkhead was intstalled to keep the foam invasion to a minimum.
I got the bow half full and realized maybe I should check the deck refitting issue... had to install the balsa cross beams to close up the hull about a quarter inch. Notice the 1/16" bass wood I CAd to the top of the bow to keep the curve smooth. This also allowed sufficient surface area to hold the cross beams.
I was worried this morning when I checked the final foam layer (ended up doing three total- pics are after 2nd). But fortunately my cross beams held and the deck still fits back on perfectly.
I am thinking either silicone joint seal or some more foam and a deckwide epoxy job... anyway here are some pics.
