Mate i'm going to start with 10s1p with a octura x646 barr cut.
My plan is to get the cat running fast and stable on the 10s.
Then i will go to the 12s1p and probably a ABC 4518/2 or ABC 4217/3.
Also this is the time i will plug in the gyro operated tunnel flap.
I've got myself some real nice props for this project ABC 4518/3 - ABC 4718/3.
I don't want to go over 47mm in dia on the props , Because the Maritimo will show very bad prop walk issue the bigger the prop , Which will also prevent the hull getting to 80+mph.

Wolf I cut out the foam to go into the spoonsons and the front of the cat.
Then i made up the bulkhead setup with foam added.
I weighed both setups and the carbon bulkhead is lighter then the solid foam setup.
Also i needed a place to put the hydra.
Buy the time i've glass the bulkhead in, it should come out around the same weight as the solid foam.
Only gain here is strength.

Motor mount

Finished the carbon mount for the CNC motor mount to sit on.

I think it has come out real nice.

It will be epoxied to the tunnel floor.

bonewar, that mount is SUPERSWEET looks like a starwars tie fighter, you made it? im doing a skunkworks well buying parts not started building yet, would you make and sell those, looks like has the angle mine will need, very nice work...

I have just modified the mount with some carbon 3mm plate
to get the right angle.

Update Tunnel Wing

I've been busy building the new tunnel wing assemble.

The carbon plate i made has come in very handy.

Just hope it works as good as it looks!!

Update spark suppression

With the lipo set up on this cat i will be running 10 - 12 (37v-44.4v) cell lipos.
The extra large capacitors i'm using on the Hydra HV 240 will INCREASE the sparking affect when joining the ESC to the lipo's.
So to stop this happening !!! Here is a solution to fix the problem and to stop that nasty spark from causing any problems. PIC 123


The Maritimo she's all cut up.

Just about to start rebuilding here.
Going to strengthen the area around the transom tunnel wing and strut mount.
Should come out real nice.

Next update when i have done something!!

Great job. The text for the resistors is for MGM controllers, for Hydras Castle recommends 1Ω resistor 2-3 watts. I am using 1Ω resistor 5watts with HV240, so far so good. no sparks and everything works ok. If using higher resistors such as the 60 Ω may cause the hydra not to arm properly, if i remember well.
If it arms ok with the 60 then no problem, but I think mine did not. then I put the 1Ω and OK
