So you apply a polyester resin on an epoxy hull ??????????
Everybody knows poly doesn't stick on epoxy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
      Poly on epoxy : no

        Gerwin,

I use the same resin to glass on my carbon pod on my simrad cat.
It hasn't moved , no cracks, solid as a rock.
Same as for the carbon floor on the simrad , hasn't lifted strong as the day i layed it up.
Must be just lucky 'A' .

        Thanks for the tip mate.

          Okay.

Are you gonna remove the foam after the poly has cured ?

            Gerwin,

Please tell me why do you think it has held up so well on my Simrad cat.
The cat has survived some serious crashes, and everything is still in its place , no cracks strong as a rock.

              Bonewar :

              I don't know. Maybe it's due to the poly/styrene mix ?
Maybe the H&M epoxy is more like a vinylester resin ?
              I really don't know.

                This is an easy fix.
I was planing to remove the foam anyway so that my motor can be on an angle on the floor of the hull. I need the room under the hatch.
So i will get myself some epoxy resin and tape in the hatch from the back side , every thing should be fine. Right ?
                Thanks Bonewar

Yep, that's exactly why I would remove the foam: to laminate the bubble from the inside.

                    Thanks Gerwin ,

I think you just save me some pain. Cracked hatch flooded boat!!!!
I buy my glass from my local boat/fiberglass shop. Old mate is in for some ribbing tomorrow. Showed him the boat and he recommended using the poly resin.

By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATE...

                        Gerwin,

Had a chat to the people at the fiberglassing shop , And a couple of friends.
They seam to think that because i did such a good job on prepping the hull / pod , that is why it has stuck so well.
This time round i bought some vinyl ester resin and have glass in the back of the hatch with it .
So please tell me that this will stick to the epoxy hull/hatch.
                        Thanks mate

                          Glassing update

                          OK,
                          The rain has stopped,
I glassed in the black glass floor, Finished glassing the hatch.
Glassed in cloth to reinforce the seam on the inside of the hull.
                          Front on view!!!
The finished product will look sick!!!
                          Stealthy!!!!!
Next update steering gear , motor mount.

                            Glassing

                            Been busy !!!

Sanded the hatch right back to the original glass.

Then added the flow coat, will sand the flow coat in the morning.

To achieve the perfect hatch with no bog.

                              Bonewar,
I have got a few bits and pieces out of my Maritomo, I will get the weight & COG when it is back together.

That hatch looks heaps better that the original Maritimo Hatch. Well Done.

                              I am Jealous...I want one....Nice Work.

                              Cheers...Tim.

                                Update

I've almost got the hull and canopy ready for undercoat.
                                Lots of sanding involved.
For this build I'm going for a real clean look, no hatch details on the deck , no scoops on the canopy.

I've also been busy with the new steering gear.
A few more holes to drill , A bit more filing to do and lots of polishing , should come out real neat.
Here are a few pictures for you guys to look over.
Next update when i have finished the motor mount , steering gear.
