Most of my parts come from AndrewG, Here is a link to his web page (MOTOR KUHLERS) . http://www.fastelectrics.com/blmotor...#Motor_Kuhlers. The Kuhlers are very glossy finish they look awesome. BONEWAR

          Hey mate,

          Yeah repairs are goin steady..
Ive been to tempted to run the boat, so ive been out a few times with just a plain white hatch. Feel a little sorry for her, cos she looks a lil ugly like this lol.
But ive cut the Window recess out and got all by bits n pieces, shouldnt be long.

Also, after recieving some smaller props so i could get used to the boat at slower speed, ive been running 116 kph average.
I dropped the struts 2 mm as told to do so buy some guys on the european forums, im now getting 125 kph average and the boats runs real good. I get about 5mins runtime aswell..
So think ill move upto run 12s pretty soon.

Anyways, whens the next update on progress. you got any pics, im keen to see the carbon floor job
i just ordered a CT03, wouldnt mind doing the bottom of it for a better look inside the boat. Ive never done this. Show me how

Wow , if your getting those speeds out of 10 cells can't wait to see what she pulls with the 12 cells. SWEET!!! 1 suggestion make sure you reinforce the back of the cut out window section , Its the only weak point on the boat in a high speed crash.
Next update in about a weeks time , when i have finished the glassing. I'll post a how i did it thread so that you'll get a good idea how to go about it. Its really not that difficult to do. Cheers BONEWAR

              M12- paint

The paint i will be using for this project is 2 pak polyurethane .
It is a very good paint , very tough!
I used it on my other Simrad Cat and it has held up very well , considering the high speed crashes it has survived.
2 primer coats , 3 top coats , decals , 2 top coats clear and that should just about do it. BONEWAR

                Glass update

I have got the hatch ready for glassing .
It's been raining here for a week 2 x cyclones dropping there load on us.
Soon as it stops raining i will finish the hatch and the carbon floor.

I've ordered some carbon fiber 3mm sheet, i will be using this for the motor mount and the servos , Also the gyro mount.

While it's been raining i got to the flotation , I'm using very light weight foam cut to the shape of the spoonsons , i use the same stuff on my Simrad cat and it has held up very well . The transom of the cat will also get some of this foam.

Next little mission will be soldering the 6.5mm plugs to the lipo's ,motor, esc. Also adding the extra caps to the esc.

Next update when i have finished the glassing.

                  Just rain an then some!

You can definatly tell you've been in doors, that foam to go in the sponsons is 100% perfectly cut out lol. Nice n Neat..

                    Carbon fiber

I just received my carbon fiber 3mm sheet.
I'm going to use the sheet to make a angled mount for the CNC motor mount to sit on.
The CNC mount is designed to sit flat on the tunnel floor , but for this project i will be running it on an angle so that i can get the shaft as straight(single curve) as possible rather then using a S bend style shaft.
The other pieces in the pictures are going to be my servo mounts just have to glass them together.
Still no good for fiberglassing the rain and the 87% humidity won't let off.
I have every thing i need to finish this project now, The next couple of months should be very interesting.

i like they idea of an adjustable flap.
i am no expert in high speed boats but i often see people commenting on boats setup for s.a.w runs saying that anything under wot they are real pigs to drive.
from what i have seen when pushing a hull to its limits they c.o.g is usally rather far forward and struts are adjusted to help hold the front down at high speed.
if the flap will help hold your hull on the water at high speed with some deflection allowing a setup say closer to normal running then it should ride better at lower speeds and help it get to its top speed with out any bad tendancies some times seen with high speed setups.
                      nice build by the way

                          Csaari77,

Mate i bought the servo mounts from Hydro&Marine.
Here is a link to there web site.http://www.hydromarine.de/hm_19.htm.
Scroll down the page and you will find them.

                            Fiberglass Hatch

                            Finally the rain has stop.
So i've been busy fiberglassing the new hatch for the cat.
I use 2 layers of fiber and also filled in the exhaust ports.
I'm not going to use the scoops on this boat , I'm going for a real clean look ,also better for the high speed crashes that will be coming.
This week i will be fiberglassing the carbon floor for extra strength for the motor mount . I am only going to carbon the tunnel floor and not the spoonson, i will put some extra cloth on the seams for added strength , Trying to keep the weight down on this one.
Also been busy designing a mount for the cnc motor mount to sit on , And the new rudder setup should have these finished by the end of the week.
Next update when i have finished the carbon floor.

                                Gerwin,

The resin i use is called FGI-fiberglass international. I think it is made in New Zealand.
                                Its a polyester resin 40-70%, styrene(30-60%).
                                Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide catalyst.

I also like to top it with FLOW COAT , styrene 30-60% ,fumed silica(0-10%). Makes it easy to sand out all the imperfection.

Gerwin how is the boat of yours coming along any updates. Thanks
