Dropped a 42mah Neu 2s pack in it this weekend just to make sure I could get a pack in it.

Darrin not sure if you are interested but they are giving away plans for the rigger. Resize to the size you would want.

This fellow has them posted on his site. Scroll down a little to find the PDFs. http://ne-stuff.blogspot.com/2009/04...ydroplane.html

Or you can go to Intlwaters if you are a member and ask the first poster for a set to be emailed to you. He was on of the designers.

Some history......... Nine years ago David Hall and myself started talking about building a dirt simple competitive outrigger hydro. We had moderate success but that effort kind of fell off our "hot" priorities list. About 3 years ago our interest in the boat design once again re-surfaced...

What progress do you want to know about? New things are happening literally almost daily as Rod just posted something else just this morning in the past few hours.
Struts seem to be one issue as it has to get as low as it can while still having the ski in the way. Joe Petro now is selling struts that may cure that issue.
The .21 plans are now online. The kits should that are scheduled to start shipping around the first week of December but you have to get on the list if you want to be one of those getting one out of the first batch. [email protected] should be the right address.
Seeing how I'm a nitro and gas guy, I've got one .12 version almost done and started messing with #2 last Saturday. If you want pix here, ask otherwise I won't bother unless there are some that would be interested in dropping an intended engine in there.
I have my own ideas that I've also used in building #1 and those can be used in putting together an electric version as well.

I was asking Tino. Pretty sure thats how it works when you post in someones build thread. But thanks for the warm welcome Ron.

Did you... Tino.. go with snowmans setup tip? 4100mah Neu XPi 2S pack, a cheap 60-90 amp ESC, and a Feigao 380L 6t and does it fit?

OK, sometimes you have to say who you're asking.
My wife is like that. She'll be talking to me but just start gabbing away so I don't pay any attention. I don't know who she's talking to as it could be the kid, the dogs or someone on the phone. Until she says something like "Didn't you hear me" do I realize that I was supposed to be listening.

No progress, I just pretty much built it and left it with no running gear. When it was confirmed that an FE version was coming I lost total interest to be honest. It's just to small for my liking. Not sure what to do with it now LOL.

On a side note it was really fun to assemble.

I do that even when I know shes talking to me.

Bummer Tino. Looks like if I want to know I will have to become the guinea pig.

                        No I dont.
Im still thinking about which project to start. Do I finish my ellison, fire fighter, AM canard, or a old WHH hydro. Or do a start a brand new project?

The purpose built FE rigger looks like a really good deal.

                            UPDATE
Its been a while since the last post about this boat, I bought it off Teach last year and finished it off over winter, it just got wet for the first time yesterday.

I modified it slightly by drilling another set of holes for the rear boom tubes above the originals, as high as I could so the tops of the rear sponson tubes are hard against the top sheeting, this allowed me to raise the tube running through the tub enough to slide a 2s 5800mAh pack underneath it whilst keeping the sponson AoA the same as it is stock, while I was at it I increased the size of the tubes so I can use 8mm carbon rod both for strength and economy (I'm not the best driver and do clip a lot of buoys so like a strong boat, and having them 8mm means that when I buy 2x 1meter rods for the .21 the leftover ends are just the right length for the .12).

I made a 3.5mm carbon mount (leftover form a car chassis I made) with 3mm screwholes 19mm apart to take a 28mm inrunner, im using a Leopard LBP2850/2.5D 5280KV which does not quite fit in when the motor mount is angled for a gentle curve to the strut but as I hate "S"bends I elected to nagle it anyway and have a small powerbulge in the hatch.

There's the stock flat hatch in a couple of photos to show the bulge, but when I ordered my Minisprint I ordered a couple of HIS .21 cockpit style cowls one for my .21 and the other hoping I could mod it to fit the .12, which I could pretty easily, its a fair bit shorter but not much narrower so theres still space for tape, cutting it at the front was a non issue it is flat in front of the canopy so its just a case of measuring to fit, at the back however you have to cut it short of where the canopy ends leaving a raised section with a hole in the back of it that would be a pain tape up so i glued 2 sheets of HIS into the gap bringing the top back down to the level of the sides then sanded most of it off at an angle so it sits flush all the way round, it clears the motor fine and allows more room up front for the wiring.

Most of the rest was basic finishing, I painted it in the pearlescent british racing green top and sides with yellow stripe, underside and peripherals, installed my Hitec 5245 servo, chinese 75mm rudder, ETTI 4mm ballraced strut, ModelMarineSupplies .130"-4mm-1/8" flexshaft, its only had 3 runs so far but so far its liking a de-tongued and backcut x435 best so far (others tried were Mshaped X435 and backcut Y535) still have plenty more to try.

It went very nicely indeed off the table, nice and loose on the calm front straight and a bit sketchy from time to time on the rough back straight but i only had to lift on about half the laps so I was happy enough there, I didn't change anything between the 3 props, the turning was ideal for the oval I was running on but I was reminded that its one of the larger ones that I race at, so I will be putting some more rudder throw into it, rather than the .21 where I took as much out as I could and the turns are still pretty violent.

only 6 images per post so theres 3 posts with pictures in, internal shots first.
