Straight shafts work fine what helps is this pic.. 20mm prop runs only on the prop, for the comment about cg.. this is why I run them so far aft I get a good solid bite on the water this pic is with a 13g outrunner at 31,600 rpm with my laser tach unloaded.

Here's a closer look of the prop ride on another pic.. I took a few pics they all show the same attitude in the water even with the wind running ripples on the water the straight line drive held true and the prop road the surface even in the turns.Attached FilesComment

Sounds perfect for a little rigger!
I can't do anything this week/end on the boat, going to be @ my Grandparents for thanksgiving down in GA. FAR away from any hotwire bows and foam.
But the weekend after I'll try and get some formica to make a set of templates. The tub might end up being 2" wide now since I have a lot of Hi Load 60 left over from my plane.
Do you guys like rounded sponson bottoms or square edges between the angles? (I.E. visible breaks or a smooth curve?)Comment

I'm shooting for an all inclusive kit minus electronics.
I guess you could put a strut on there, but the transom design doesn't really allow for it.

Okay boys,
I can't get a paypal account currently, as i'm 17 years old.
BUT.
My 18th is in a month, Feb 6th. So on my b-day, i'll be creating a paypal account and ordering one of the pulso motors.
I'm about to start college wednesday, so there won't be much time for hobbies in the near future. Once I get the hang of it though, there will be some major progress.Comment

UPDATE!!!! UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!!
I FINALLY started working on this little demon. I have the foam for the sponsons fully cut out and shaped, and I decided just to use 1/32" ply for the skins. I've got a few of the skins cut out for the sponsons, and i'm going to go pick up some epoxy now and go cut out a tub. Pics in a little bit!

Before you attach the sponsons, you may want to consider making them adjustable. Added weight would likely not exceed 8-10 grams. Easiest way to do this is by using tubing as a sleeve through the bow, reinforced with cut carbon fiber boom inside, then slide the sponsons with the booms attached into the remaining open sleeve. Some very small through bolts will suffice to hold in place. Let me know if you want me to hunt up a picture for you.
Great build and I look forward to seeing the results. I didn't see a link for the original video, could you provide a link please for us curious types?

I was thinking about having a pivot on the rear mount and an adjustable front mount. This would only be on the first boat for testing. Can you post pics? I need ideas that don't take up a lot of room at all.
I am trying to think about how to do the stuffing tube... I was thinking just a short length of brass tube only where the shaft goes through the hull with a piece of fuel tubing on the inside to seal it... If the stainless bike spokes prove to be more flexible, then a full stuffing tube with proper brass bushings would be in order...
