Rumdog's UL-1 build

Just got my hull/hardware in the mail today. Brand new from MR. Longballumber on swap shop. Awesome packing job by the way! It is the updated version. First step will be pulling the hw off and painting. I plan to run this hull with absolutely no reinforcements so I can report on how the updated version holds up. However, It will not be stck as far as power goes. Should be a fun build!!

Gear pulled. Primed, block sanded the sponsons. starting paint now.

Man Id just do a sweet paint on the hatch and leave the hull white... Its a clean look to me IMO.

So what motor and esc are you planing to run?

Id go Feigao 9xl.. 5s2p...and an x442 with a hydra120...

It should scream high 50's then!

My setup will be similar to that Nate. Well, I'm having a hell of a time painting. Second coat last night and the rattle can blew out little specks of goo all over the hull. Soooo, I had to let it dry and sand it all down again. Drying as I type. It's gonna be 8xl, ETTI 150 opto, on 4s and I'm gonna give 5s a whirl on a smaller prop. I may get a 11xl as well to run with 6s. She's gonna rip!

Paint Done

Paint done. Except for the lil fins. Can you guess the theme? I know, not very original, but I haven't deen it on a UL-1 yet. Should start getting my Goodies for it in the mail Monday.

Maybe slap just a few decals on her and it will look perfect.

Thanks Nate! I was gonna leave the hw black, but..... That polished look would be sweet on this boat! I think i'll go for it! NitroVal, It is Rustoleum multipurpose gloss black. Covered very nicely. No clear on the black either and it's got a great looking finish to it!

Oh yes, gotta love the rock band! It's rustoleum multipurpose flourescent green. Nate called it on the theme. The local Yamaha dealer has some vinyl Monster graphics i'm gonna snag up. Should look pretty sweet!

if thats the flour green they sell at home depot- i had the same prob w/ chunks blowing out- ill never use it again
