That's total BS and completely insulting... Why is it you lefties think that yours are the only valid talking points?

I'll explain it again for those who haven't heard it before... I scan a WIDE array of information and data in order to form an opinion... If it happens to jive with a "right winger tin hat", or whatever you call it, then so be it...

How about you try this... refute what we say with REAL DATA, Like Bill tries to do... and maybe your opinions can be taken more seriously... Just because I choose not to dismiss certain pieces of the puzzle when Obama and his cronies try to tell us to, doesn't mean that I'm not correct in my position.

If you are REALLY paying attention to the facts, and even remotely trying to relate them to how you KNOW the real world works, then you'd be nervous as hell about what has, and is about to happen to this country... The so-called "health care reform" being just the tip of the iceberg.

So, sorry if that offended you. There, no we both think we offended the other guy. Are we good now??
Clearly you missed my point or you wouldn't have professed to CLEARLY know what I'm thinking

Okay, let me try this one more time.

The numbers I called out were in response to a comment about prior administrations corralling wealth from the masses.
My point being that I consider myself to be one of the "masses" and I pay nothing. The top 10% of wage earners pay 55%.
I was not trying to say they are being taken advantage of, nor how that number relates to the total income earned in this country, simply that I'm sure there are a lot more people like me that don't pay at all that could certainly pay something.
Why not ask me what I meant specifically by my statement (if you didn't understand it) rather than assume that you know what I'm thinking and that I'm just uninformed?

Thank you for the kind words, very good of you

To tell the truth I was raised that way, to take care of my own, to be self sufficient, and to be proud of ones efforts.

Perhaps I missed your intention since you used a well worn line about who pays what in taxes. That statement is often used to defend tax cuts for the wealthy, but I have never seen it used to justify that people in the middle should pay more. So I obviously was confused about your intention.

Dang, we are now at page 5 of yet another thread that has become a left vs right political sh1t slinging match that neither side will win.

That is right, you will not win your argument, you may feel better that you have voiced your opinion and you may know that you are right.

When both sides of a discussion have these same emotions then all that will happen is some of the middle ground dwellers may gather enough information to make an informed opinion on the issue at hand.

Given the nature of US media ( there is a lot of it ) there is a LOT of information to filter and then prioritise before absorbing. I always like to hear both side of the story before forming and opinion on most topics.

                  US politics is weird.

                  I'd still root Palin

Only the people in the White House really know what's going on. There is so much mis-information that all we can do is throw our hands up in the air.

Guys lets all agree that we disagree and move on. After everyone including myself has trampled on Doug's thread, I think this tread ran its course. I'm closing this one.
