yes there a very good radio, bet it feels weird the weight difference
unfortunately i plugged a ubec into my marine rx today instead of the normal battery pack i use and it blew my rx
]Andy said he was not going to use his boats over Christmas. He said something about playing with himself. Not sure what that is all about
That radio looks really great. Looked at them when I went Futaba, was told of some range issues. Probably bull$hit, yours seems great.Comment

Maybe we can make some suggestions. Lets start the ball rolling with this....
1. Capability of at least 3 heat sensors
2. GPS included in the receiver for more accurate speed
3. Memory that stores the days telemetry in the transmitter so it can upload the information to your computer for either printing or storing in a text file.
4. Connection to the OSE forum via satellite at all timesSeveral boats in various stages of destructionComment

This will not be new to ozzie but might be to a few others.
I just changed my radio control system from JR R-1 to Spektrum DX3S. I have the receiver with telemetry and have a marine receiver coming.
The videos will show you what telemetry can do. Basically it will send information such as rpm, the temp of motor, battery or esc or the volts of the receiver battery from the boat back to the transmitter in your hand so you can see these things at a glance. This is very helpful when setting up a boat.
The marine receiver is said to work in a glass of beer but my beer is not going out in the boat for that to work. I will use a battery instead
I took the second video just in case the first one did not work and I moved about 100 feet from the boat to help demonstrate how it works over distance. It is supposed to be good for up to 200 feet.
Nice looking radio Paddy. I didn't quite have the budget for that one but did just get a Spectrum DX3.0. I have played around with the programing but haven't had it to the pond as it has been quite chilly as of late.IMPBA 20481S D-12Comment

You can bet that some of the other companies are working on ones with more telemetry features as I type.
We live in exciting times with our hobby. Lipo batteries, brushless motors and now telemetry in our radios are just a few of the changes I have seen in my time in this hobby. I had some brushed can boats and lost interest because of the slow speed. My nitro boats were much faster in those days but my nitro boats would not see which way even my slowest electric boats went these days. I often read threads on here where a guy says he is building a slow boat for his kid that will do 40 mph. I can remember the time I dreamed of doing 40 mph and now kids start out at that speed.
There is a down side to going fast and it is the cost of the hobby. I am retiring several of my boats and just run my DF 33 and the BBY rigger to keep my costs down. I run on the edge with my setups so disasters do happen and they cost. Costs have gone down quite a bit as compared to when I first started. I payed about $400 for my first Neu motor and that was the 1515 1.5y (or is it) that is in my DF 33. That motor has seen many a lipo pack go to the grave. I also payed about $400 for my first lipo and now I pay $59 for a better battery. My first brushless esc was about $400 also. The price of genuine factory hulls has not changed much though.
Chuck I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
Paddy
You will find copies of the above in both paperback and hard cover in your local bookstore at a reasonable price. Great Christmas reading for all. Yeah I know I was doing OK until my humor got the better of me.Several boats in various stages of destructionComment

Douggie a very merry Christmas to you mate. Thanks for all the laughs you have given me this year. Thanks also for the little pearls of wisdom you often pass on to us all. May Santa stuff your stocking with something that is gorgeous, blonde and 25 and a veracious appetite for Scotch. You thought I was going to say sex didn't you?Several boats in various stages of destructionComment
