As long as Doby recommends you and the boat has a note on it saying Happy Christmas Doc you will be given an extended visa for anything up to 6 months.

I'll forewarn border security that the incoming skirt wearing old twit with toy is not expecting the famed 'DocWayne' to collect and escort him to a creche .. they should instead point him towards the taxi rank, and push..

I'll call and arrange a tentative room booking at the .5star Villawood Holiday Resort ..
I hope you'll appreciate the effort it'll take to secure this vacancy.... the place is normally packed like a ship of refugees !
The free ride from arrival location to their front door is an added bonus admired by many their appreciative guests

I'll have to write a letter to customs ASAP and as soon as I can find a mailbox in all of this bloody rain (currently in Scotland)
No wonder Douggie's always grumpy. If he was raised in this climate, its understandable.

Guys I have a friend who works as a maintenance man at a primary school. A young boy from a broken family often comes and talks with him and expressed interest in model boats. He asked my friend if he could help him build a boat suitable for radio control. My friend knows nothing about model boats so he came to see me. I told him I would help out. After some thought I decided to donate a DF 33 clone hull and a new HK GT-2 radio (el cheapo but still works fine). I have an engine mount I can add to the deal but I am wondering if any of you have an old brushless motor, rudder, stinger, servo and mount, flex shaft, hex flex, lipo and charger I could buy as cheap as possible. This boat only has to do about 20 mph (should be fast enough for a kid to start with and give good long run times). These parts do not have to be new. You can either PM me or post here.

BTW we are hoping to finish this before the Christmas school break up so he has something for his holidays.

Doc you are a good man. The little fella will love that and saves a lot of messing about for me. It is a great thing to give a kid as it has forward and reverse, is self righting and that makes it safer for him. Should never have to get more than his feet wet to get it out again. What sort of speed are we talking about here? Not one of your SAW racers I hope
You should at least let me pay the postage on that or would you like the DF 33 hull?

For a few hours after it was first tested on water I sat with that ever ready glass of red, contemplating go fast options.
When sobered, I shelved it, and the idea.
                      Max speed is 20-30
Roll over recovery is a cut lunch wait..but eventuates..

I'll supply this lot, you supply the Tx.Rx and jolly fatman advice.. and we'll see who comes to the party for a pair packs and battery cooker.
An ac plug pack type 3S charger for rc car is best for a kiddy.. IDIOT proof .. ask around your race track, MrP

Postage? shux.. we'll see what our impudent postal service demands.

Speed is good. Not too fast. I gave him a new HK Tx.Rx. Cary needs to pay for something or buy us a slab of beer as it was his idea. Due to postage costs I will drink your beer for you

I will add a pair of packs to my next HK order. I think an IMAX AC charger is not that expensive and Cary can pay for that or the beer.

I think the car race track has seen the last of me. I will stick to my car park fun by myself. I raced real cars when I was younger and it cost so much money and because of the competitiveness the pit fights took any enjoyment out of the day. People want to win at all costs. Boating can be the same too. I can remember when a certain guy in SoCal got a SAW record how bitter some were about that. I get along with me and my gps just fine. We have no arguments or exchange blows even though I often think that bloody gps tells me lies. My boats are much faster than that

hey doc, i've been interested in a jet drive for a little while now. My first boat was a jet drive, but the hull was too big for the drive. Started as a graupner 700 bb 9.6 volt and nicad cells, then it was in my brother in laws attic for years (was his boat at the time). When he finally gave it to me i put in a supervee 27 power system, the old blue can motor. and it did ok. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ci9M...feature=relmfu Then i gutted the whole drive and put it into a little walmart fountain v hull for use as a rescue boat. Real narrow beam so it keeled over a lot in the turns. tried to add little stabilizer pieces to the side. Maiden voyage with the added "stabilizers" was also the final voyage. Took off good then i tried to turn right, sponson thingy (for lack of a better term, just called it a stabilizer) dug in and rolled the boat to the left, no foam and now its at the bottom.

Any way the point is i have always thought a little jet drive would be fun, looked a lot at the tear into nqd but i think they are too short for a 29 mm graupner. I noticed you had almost the entire drive hanging out the back, mine was in the hull up to the stator vanes? cant remember what the thing that counteracts the swirling effect is called. Was wondering why you put your so far back. Was it CG or for hydrodynamic reasons or....

Do you think that hull is a good choice for a jet drive? I have go fast boats, wanting a boat for those windy blown out days. Jumping, wake surfing, sprint racing.

sorry if this is a Hi-jack, just happened to end up in this thread and notice the boat.

                              Hi
This 22.5" started as a plan for a rescue boat...a nd then it arrived and those plans thrown away..
Already had the jetpump from several efforts before ... it hangs way out back for cog.. and because it is almost 1/2 the length of hull if fully inside.. and this hull is a tiny bugger !
Underhull grate now fits right at back of keel.. have 'sanded the bum flat' to allow for ride surface..

Had a NQD toy. POS needs lots to make it ok.

Paddy .. stick your glider..this has my eye !
