Brand new SprintCat40 & Turbine cowl arrived today :smile :
Opened box much later :excitement :
I have not seen such a poorly finished gel since my last days in senior school...c1980 :shock :
If not certain the seller sold me a legitimate AMarine hull .. Id say it was a cheap flop. :sad :
This really is labeled hull #12325 from the mold .. sure looks used :tears :
Sorry guys, this is the first/last hull I will buy from AM
However, it does offer me lots of opportunity to modify
2x 1518/1800
3/16LR flex
2x 1/4 stingers with 3/16 rollers giveth a nice 3/16 roller stinger ( swap 1/4teflon for 3/16bearings..same outer dim's )
either 6S1P or 2P.. play or race..
impressed with onboard retrieval system idea...
Why not, and this is almost 3 glasses of red talking here.. why not use turbine intakes for water inlets ( upside down retrieval, remember) and feed through jetboat impellor setup to outlet on turbine exhaust.. can propel and steer... ?
simple....
hic

Will a bit of filler and some paint fix her up?
BTW I tried Andrew G for some Maritimo stickers but he said he has not had them for sometime. I will have a look on the H&M site and see if they have them. I really like the MHZ Aquamania stickers and have to decide which way to go. I would leave it white and cover it with St Kilda/Packers stickers but from what you have told me the hull looks a bit worse for wear so will need a bit more covering than a football stickerSeveral boats in various stages of destructionComment

I dont care if the body is white, yellow, red, brown, black, cream or bronzed.. close your eyes ...they all feel the same... smooth and energetic.
Douggie.. will see if my camera can show the defects in the gel..although the after mold patches should be easy.
Despite my upset at the skin's finish.. it is still a well constructed hull that is strong and light.

Wooden spoons, Cold spoons, WTF has been going on here ?????? Dr I hope those cheese cutters work for you. I like those abc as back cutting does not remove the trailing edge cup, put a bit of tip pitch on there just to harden up the roost mate, hope you don't mind. That cat would go well on a twin 10s set up with some 55mm + props, insane mateComment

Tip pitch .. oh, you mean the bend on the ends ?.. hahha, Ta.
Sadly twin x 10S = 20S class .... in Au no such ..we're limited to 12 cells in the largest class.. eg 12S1P or 2x6S1P or 1x6S2P etc
2x6S1P is my goal for the SC40.. that'd be nasty enough.
Works out at 6.2KW per side... for 1.46 minutes !
55mm+ .. at 40Krpm ????
Will try these 1616 and build up from there
