Some more nose thumbing from our elected officials. Unfortunately all the politicians think this way because we let it happen all over from both parties.

    Dear American Taxpayer,

I want to thank the hard working American people for paying $242 thousand dollars for my vacation in Spain ..

My daughter Sasha, several long-time family friends, my personal staff and various guests had a wonderful time. Honestly, you just haven't lived until you have stayed in a $2,500.00 per night private 3-story villa at a 5-Star luxury hotel.

Thank you also for the use of Air Force Two and the 70 Secret Service personnel who tagged along to be sure we were safe and cared for at all times. By the way, if you happen to be visiting the Costa del Sol, I highly recommend the Buenaventura Plaza restaurant in Marbella ; great lobster with rice and oysters!

Air Force Two (which costs $11,351 per hour to operate according to Government Accounting Office reports) only used 47,500 gallons of jet fuel for this trip and carbon emissions were a mere 1,031 tons of CO2. These are only rough estimates, but they are close. That's quite a carbon footprint as my good friend Al Gore would say, so we must ask the American citizens to drive smaller, more fuel efficient cars and drive less too, so we can lessen our combined carbon footprint.

I know times are hard and millions of you are struggling to put food on the table and trying to make ends meet. So I do appreciate your sacrifices and do hope you find work soon.

I was really exhausted after Barack took our family on a luxury vacation in Maine a few weeks ago. I just had to get away for a few days.

    Cordially,

    Michelle Obama

P.S. Thank you as well for the $2 BILLION dollar trip to India !

P.S.S. Thank you, too, for that vacation trip to Martha's Vineyard ; it was fabulous. And thanks for that second smaller jet that took our dog, Bo, to Martha's Vineyard so we and the children could have him with us while we were away from the White House for eleven days.

P.S.S.S. Oh, I almost forgot to thank you all for our "date weekend" in New York and to say thanks also for our two-week trip to Hawaii at Christmas. That 7,000 square foot house was great!

And finally, thanks for asking, we had a great time taking Air Force One to Chicago to tape our segment with Oprah a couple weeks ago, replete with full security, a separate plane for armored limosines and a full contingent of assistants.

Remember we all have to share the pain of these economic times equally! Love to redistribute and share the wealth.

SEND THIS TO EVERY AMERICAN NOW

Ok we get it. You don't like Obama. But I think a little fact check is in order.
Will President Obama's November 2010 trip to India cost $200 million per day?

You sir will stop at nothing to blame the entire demise of the U.S. on Obama. READ THE FREAKIN ARTICLE. What's worse, the pres. taking a trip, or thousands of people believing absolute B.S. propaganda stirred up by CONSERVATIVES to try and further smear the president's name for political gain?

No I'm not a liberal. But if you say I am. I guess I am. So now I'm a liberal criminal.
Why do you attack those that don't agree with you? Do you see a pattern here? You attack Obama personally because you don't like his politics. You attack those that
              don't agree with you.

I do recall people attacking Bush's policies. And from time to time, taking shots at his intellect. Just don't remember people attacking other people for disagreeing with them.
If you have a opinion, stick to it. Present the facts that support your arguments. But I implore you to not attack those who don't agree with you. I'm not a liberal or a conservative.
I don't like big government. I don't like government waste. I believe that everyone should carry their own weight. I also believe that they should be given the opportunities to do so.
That may sound conservative. But the fanaticism on both sides is not representative of both parties true philosophies. It's just rhetoric that serves no purpose other than furthering their own agendas and not the will or the welfare of the people they are supposed to represent. If you have valid concerns and facts, by all means post them. You may find people may agree with you. But labeling people will only change their opinion of you and not support your arguments.

See we half agree. I think they all are dangerous with their brand of politics. They treat the constitution as if it was just a piece of paper written by some senile old folks and the will of the people as a passing fad motivated by the misguided ramblings of spoiled children. Micheal Steele (another person who's politics I don't care for) essentially said both parties have to agree on a "hybrid" position. They both need to find a position that will benefit the people and not their careers or their party's misguided agendas.

It is in our nature to attempt to explain our arguements using extremes. I am very guilty of it. Guess I'm not well potty trained. But it doesnt mean we cant debate. As long as we try and stay within some form of reason. The snopes article, while accurate regarding the biased trips value, had no available dollar amount to argue its true cost and the whole point of making statements about the ridiculous reporting overshadowed its purpose of questioning why the First Family was allowed to spend ANY amount of money to perform a duty clearly held by our Appointed Officials, whose responsibilty it is to legaly represent the American People and the Administration. At a time when the American People are suffering financial hardship the trip of the First Family to Africa was nothing more then a boon doggle. I dont care what view anyone argues from this was absolutey a slap in the face to us, the Country's Citizens. Even if the cost was a shamefull nickel, a mere 5 cents, this was useless to all except the Adminstration.

I do have a fair handle on what the trip cost and it was well over a $100 million dollars. Knowing whats involved at the required security levels, preperation of strategic materials, placement of screening personel to locations and alternates, infiltration of unknown travel risks. Not to mention the relocation of intelligence assets. It might appear to the average person that this was booked on Travelocity, but you couldnt be farther from the truth.

That is not what tightens my lug nutz. Its the slap in the face to us, all of us, about why this was even needed when in the Offical Adminstration Capacity, there already existed the people to make this trip. I bet you wont see anyone pleaing with Obummer about why the local shelter is being closed down, but his lovely Family got to "Vacation Africa" at taxpayer expense. Why the hungry children in THIS country get to have no options on how much they might get soon. I hope the thought of the Familiy Vacation fills them with warmth although they will still be hungry!

A comment was made recently about the Elite. Well,...........I guess we just got told who are some of the members.

Exactly. This is what I mean. Some people in positions of authority or wealth use the average american as a stepping stone to their own personal growth. If you truly work hard to achieve prosperity then you are entitled to it. But if you do it by stepping on people then you deserve nothing less than to be stepped on. Politicians and some heads of major corporations fall in this category. They have sold us down the river to maintain their own personal gains. How much sense does it make to outsource american jobs to sell those products back to America? If we don't have jobs to earn money to buy their products, then where does the money come from? Government entitlements. Companies that outsource jobs should peddle their wares elsewhere. Or tax the heck out of their products until they have to move job back to domestic shores. As consumers, we have that kind of buying power. Fair wages across the board for workers. Just think if the exorbitant salaries were cut from Some CEO's and top managers salaries and applied to hiring more workers. Is it socialism or just fair? I'm not talking redistribution of wealth. I'm talking about a fair chance to succeed. I don't want the government to take care of able bodied people who are too lazy to work. Or a government that intrudes into my personal life or takes from me money that they haven't earned. Just a government that protects the welfare of the people it represents. I think that is pretty much what we all want.

We've been over this before. Government is the problem. "We the people" have no self discipline. We don't respect ourselves or our fellow man. Hence "government" to force us to do the right thing. The "right thing" of course being debated to death by guess who........the government. With out us they don't exist. Unfortunately they....can't be trusted. None of them. They will confiscate our earnings and then argue about where to blow them.........oh, and a little cut for them. They'll even tell us that they'll confiscate a little more of the earnings of "others" so that they don't need as much of ours. Works too. We say "yes please".

Even if Obama had the answers to our economic woes it would have taken time. There isn't some magic switch he could have flipped. If there was, every president would have the exact economy he wanted. I'm no Obama supporter BTW. Obama is a tool IMO. But he didn't single handedly murder our economy.
